A Different Sight, a Newborn Light
59
I tried to break away from my "comfort zone" in writing with this poem and step away from the topic of love. I feel if I get stuck in that mode then I only write when I have it, when I want it or when I just lost it and I'd rather be able to write more often on a number of topics. So I wrote this about a change, a different mindset, a new outlook on life.
Enjoy.
A Different Sight, a Newborn Light
I can't stay the same if no one is listening
It's not really change if no one is missing me
Change for the better or change for the worse
Changing forever for whatever it's worth
I hate that I'm different, but it's what keeps me sane
A change for commitment if you feel the same
.
Steady flow of rambling and watered-down thoughts
Be careful when handling the life you just bought
.
No one can hear me, but they're reading my mind
No one is near me, but I'm taking my time
.
These windows keep you sheltered and out of the cold
A cell that's see-through and locks in your soul
Pull back the shades and let in some light
It's time for change and I'm ready to fight
.
My eyes come open, you're smiling at me
I seem to have spoken while having a dream
I'm not sure what you heard, but you're saying, "me too"
I'm not sure of the words, but I'm sure that it's true
