Having a relationship with your boss is a big no no. Unless you are already married to the shop owner, you should not be in a relationship with a boss who you work with. You should not mix the worker's ink with a relationship. The two entities; that is, your boss and you as the employee should never meet in a relationship of any kind except that of a job related working relationship.

Your livelihood and what you do for a living should be of the most importance to you. That means that you have found a job that pleases you and pays the bill. You do not need to add the problematic situations that can arise if you decide to have a relationship with the boss. Your personal life should be kept separate from your work life or what you have to do to make a living.

If there were to be a disagreement in a relationship with your boss, you would probably lose your job or be working under stressful situations. Working on a job everyday can be stressful enough without adding the conflicts and problems that can occur with having a relationship with the boss.

The Office Television Romance that Should Not be Except on TV

To take this boss and relationship scenario, a bit further, it is also not a good idea to work on the same job with your boyfriend. Any disagreements would surely show up at the work site and you do not need to have your problems at home and at work too. You need to learn how to separate your private and personal life from you work life. Once you get the separation on a level where you are not getting personal on the job with your boss or co-workers, you have a better chance at having a life pleasing to you.

If your boss is acting towards you in a sexually provocative manner, you can either choose to leave the job or file sexual harassment charges. Under no circumstances should you work in a hostile environment because you think that you may lose your job if you are not receptive to the boss's advances.

You must keep in mind that the job is there for you to make a living and you have your personal life away from the job of which to enjoy the fruits of your labor. There should be no overlapping of the boss visiting your place or meeting you for a dinner and a movie. Real life is not like the television program, The Office where all kinds of relationships are going on.

In real life, there is the possibility of you losing your job if you have conflicts with a boss who you may have decided to date against your good judgement. Keep the office at the office and you home life at home so that you can continue to make a living without any unnecessary drama.

This probably happens more often than most people think.

I'm a boss, but I don't mix work with pleasure.

It never ends well!

rvsource, thank you for your comment.

Your prompt respoonse is also appreciated. I am in agreement wYth you that these relatationships never last and is full of drama.

I like your take on About Having a Relationship with a Boss that you should not mix work with pleasure. I used the phrase that it is not a pleasing relationship. Interesting way of putting having a relationship at work with both ways of saying it resulting in drama at work or as you say the end of a relationship.

rvsource, thank you for your comment.

The Office is a great show, I think it has won several awards. I used the TV show for illustrations and according to the article those office romances weren't supposed to be going on.

But that's television for you. Your comments is much apprecated.

Well done! When the kitchen is hot, get out! We do not mess the place where we get our bread and butter. This is another quicksand Ms. lindagoffigan.
