About Positive Thinking
76How Positive Thinking Can Make A Huge Difference In Your Life
The power of the mind is so powerful that it can affect every part of your life. That is why you must always think positive to get what you want out of life.
I don't mean that you need to be a Pollyanna that seems oblivious to the evil around you. I simply mean that if you want to change your life for the better, you need to change the way you think.
Your subconscious mind will help you get what you think about each day. The only problem is, your subconscious mind cannot decide what is good or bad for you. So if you consistently have negative feelings and negative thoughts, your life will not be what you want it to be.
But if you are a positive thinker and look at the bright side of things, your life will get better. But becoming a positive thinker is not always easy. You may need to let go of a lot of past negativity and beliefs before you are able to move forward. Here is an example.
Let's say you were raised in a very strict religious home. Your parents probably told you from day one that it is a sin to desire wealth. They probably told you that Jesus was poor and you should desire to be like him.
So therefore, you have spent your entire life thinking about being poor. You have never tried to get that promotion, better job or go to college to better yourself.
You have dwelt upon the fact that it is good to have no money. You are constantly worried about how you are going to make ends meet each month. You may not even have enough money for food. But somewhere in your subconscious, you have produced these circumstances yourself with your negative thinking.
Now, do an experiment. Wipe out the scarcity thought from your mind. Visualize yourself having everything you desire in life. This may be hard for you because you will have to work through a lot of guilt feelings.
But do everything you can to get rid of the guilt and think about how you will feel when you get everything that you want.
Visualize yourself on vacation, in your brand new car with the love of your life at your side. Imagine how you will feel. Now keep these thoughts and feeling in the forefront of your mind at all times. Your life will change for the better.
This power of positive thinking can be used to better your health also. Concentrate each day on becoming healthy. Imagine how you will feel when you are healthy. Keep this picture in your mind and never talk negatively about your illness or about the way you feel. You will be amazed at how much better you will start to feel.
The brain has amazing powers and it can help you to change your life through the power of positive thinking.

Staying Grateful Despite Problems
Are you dreading Thanksgiving this year because you aren't so thankful? Do your problems loom so large over you that you don't think there's any possible way to enjoy this thankful holiday season? There is hope!
The trick is staying grateful, despite your problems. Look, it's no secret. We all have problems that we deal with on a daily basis. Have you ever wondered why it seems like some people can laugh and smile, even though they have problems that weigh on their minds?
Their secret isn't a secret at all. It's all in your mindset.
You can choose to be happy, regardless of what problems you face. Or, you can choose to let your problems weigh you down so much that you can't sleep at night and you walk around with a sour look on your face.
It is a proven fact that people who seem happy simply choose to not allow their problems to get the best of them. Not only that, but they have a positive outlook on life. They believe that no matter what problems arise, they are going to make it through them just fine.
Even though you are facing surmounting problems, stop for a moment and ask yourself what is GOOD in your life right now.
- What is going right for you?
- Is your family healthy?
- Do you have a job?
- Are you steadily working to change your situation?
Choose to remain grateful in the middle of your difficult situation. Find a way to put a smile on your face, no matter what you're going through.
You can choose to suffer, or choose to be grateful. What do you choose?
The Effects of Positive Thinking on Your Health
Did you know that by simply changing your mindset and your way of thinking, you can spur positive changes in your health? By creating a more positive way of thinking, you can greatly improve your health.
Here are just a few ways having a positive mental attitude brings about positive effects on your health:
- fewer headaches
- reduced stress
- lower blood pressure
- reduced anxiety
- health weight
When you create a more positive way of thinking, you may almost instantly begin to notice a decrease in headaches. Why? The answer is simple. Headaches are often brought on due to extreme levels of stress and pressure. When you have a more positive mindset, you will worry less, which means less stress.
Stress is one of the leading causes of anxiety and panic attacks. Once you start to get your stress levels under control, you should notice that your anxiety and panic attacks will decrease. With a decreased level of stress, your breathing will slow and return to normal and you will not get that tight feeling in your chest anymore.
Positive thinking can help reduce your blood pressure as well. What is the first thing that happens when you get angry? Your blood pressure rises! By practicing positive thinking, you can learn how to release that anger and control. This in turn will help to keep your blood pressure at a regular rate.
Finally, positive thinking can have a great impact on your weight as well. Most people with weight issues tend to suffer from low-self esteem, most of which is brought on by their own negative self-talk.

Positive Thinking on Paper
Are you a naturally negative person? Do you have trouble seeing the good in anything? Many people find themselves in this pit of negative thinking after having gone through a sequence of "bad" things happening to them. One way to help yourself out of this is to practice positive thinking on paper. Here are some tips to help you get started:
- Read books on self-improvement. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is head to the library and check out several books on self-improvement. Reading these books will help you develop yourself. They can also help you learn how to think more positively.
- Keep a self-improvement journal. Buy yourself a nice journal and ink pen. At the beginning of the journal, write a list of goals you'd like to accomplish. Every day make a record of what you did to reach one of your goals. Every day you should work towards one of these, positive thinking, being the main goal. At the end of every month, go back and read your journal entries to see what kind of progress you've made. At the end of the year, you'll have a record book full of entries and you will be able to see how you've grown and are thinking more positively about yourself.
- Start a positive thinking note card journal. Check your local office supply store or Wal-Mart for a book of wire-bound index cards. Every time you see a quote you like, write it on an index card. Continue doing this until the entire book of note cards is filled. Place the book on your desk or carry it around with you for quick boosts of positivity.

The Secret to Positive Thinking
Positive thinking is something that eludes many because they simply don't understand or believe that positive thinking can help them in any way. There really is no single big secret to positive thinking.
The miracle of positive thinking truly lies within yourself. In this article, I'm going to give you the keys to positive thinking and show you why they work.
SECRET #1: NOBODY'S PERFECT. When you can latch onto this simple little secret, you will be amazed at the change you'll notice within yourself. You'll no longer feel so angry all the time. You will start to give people the benefit of the doubt. Best of all, you will learn to forgive and not hold grudges.
SECRET #2: EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES. What's the first thing that happens when you see someone make a mistake? Are you immediately judgmental? Do you think to yourself that they had it coming to them? Negative thoughts like these are detrimental, not only to the other person, but more so to you. Allow for mistakes, and refer back to Secret #1.
SECRET #3: BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE. Just because you consider yourself to be a good person, that doesn't exclude you from having anything bad happen to you. All too often, a negative and pessimistic attitude is brought on because of seemingly one bad thing happening after another. Life is filled with bad things and disappointments. It is up to you to choose how to react to them, though.
SECRET #4: YOUR MIND DETERMINES YOUR LIFE. You really can determine how your life will turn out, based on your way of thinking. If you constantly look for bad things to happen, guess what? Bad things will most likely happen to you. But if you turn your thoughts to a more positive nature, and find the good in everything, you'll soon become a happier person and live a much happier life.
