Utilize the principles of tumor localization in planning and simulation of the treatment course. And it is noted that in order to position patients accurately for radiation therapy treatments. its necessary that you establish a respectful, effective working relationship with the physicians, nurses, dosimetrists, social workers, and other health care providers in the interdisciplinary management of cancer in order to minimize the emotional effects of cancer and its treatment on our patients.

Others duties can include: Maintain daily quality assurance records and regularly inspect the treatment machines to ensure safe, efficient, high quality patient care. Understand & apply the use of radiation exposure factors & radiation safety measures. You will be required to Prepare therapy rooms with supplies and equipmentRadiation therapists administer radiation therapy to patients under the instruction of oncologists and radiologists.

You will be working intimately with cancer patients, preparing them for therapy and subsequently monitoring their physical and psychological progress.

Education Requirements:

Radiation therapy program requires a high school diploma or the equivalent. Programs range in length from a 1 year certificate program, a 2 year associate’s degree program, and Certification can be obtained by passing an examination given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Salary Range : $44,600-$73,900
