How Soft Drinks are Bad for You
76
It is a known fact that soda is not good for you mostly because of the sodium content. Just by not drinking any soda at all will help you to lose weight without any other modification to your eating habits. Sodas that are also called soft drinks contributes to bad health and you should refrain from drinking soda contained in cans or bottles.
Sodas is one of the worse beverages that you should be drinking for your health. Even if the soda is mixed with a percentage of juice which is always minimal, the beverage is just not good for you and you should delete it from your daily intake of liquids. Sodas contain little or no vitamins or nutrients in its manufactured state. Artificial colorings, preservatives, and food coloring makes it chemically loaded such as most beverages. But caffeine, simple sugars, carbonation and worse sugar substitutes makes sodas all the more bad for your health.
Reports have shown that consumption of sodas especially from those with low immunity systems can result in nutritional depletion, tooth decay, obesity and heart disease. The simple sugars is the main culprit in sodas or soft drink. The USDA recommends on a daily diet of 2,000 calories up to 10 teaspoons of simple sugars. Sodas have surpassed the allotment of simple sugars and is dangerous for your health.
Too much sugar is not healthy and the ease of drinking sodas cause for the consumption of more than you should consume. When the soda enters the body, the pancreas has to produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that empties the sugar in your blood stream, tissues and cells of your body. When sodas are consumed the overindulgence of simple sugars raises insulin levels. A raised insulin level is not good. Raised insulin levels beyond the normal recommended level causes depression of the immune system. A weaken immune system also weakens the ability to fight diseases.
Any excess sugar from the consumption of sodas add to the fat cells of the body causing unwanted and unhealthy weight gain. The elevated weight gain is a major cause of heart disease. Diet and sugar-free sodas do not offer a healthy or better alternative than regular sodas. A report has been recently produced that stated that any type of soda consumption even if it is a diet or sugar free soda causes dangerous belly fat accumulation. The rate of percentage of developing belly fat as a result of drinking diet or sugar free soda was tested and rated at 30%.
Diet sodas contain artificial sweeteners such as saccharin, aspartame, and other unhealthy sugar substitutes. These artificial sweeteners pose a health threat to good health and can lead to harmful diseases especially in the bladder where the pancreas is located. Artificial sweetener such as aspartame is contained in nutrasweet and is used to sweeten sodas. An overload of aspartame in sodas tricks the brain into wanting more sweets after drinking. The increased appetite for sweets causes obesity with an overload of calories that is not for good health. The cravings for sweets can cause carbohydrate overloading which is another word for an over indulgence of unhealthy sugar in its natural state.
The carbonation that seems to quench thirst found in sodas is not good. Manufacturers of soda products have been reducing the carbonation of their product to confuse the consumer to think the sodas are healthy because a percentage of juice is contained.. Any carbonated soda no matter the content of carbonation contains phosphoric acid which can deplete the calcium levels. Calcium is not only needed for good health as a nutrient but to promote strong and healthy bones.
Carbonation in sodas also contains caffaine which is not good for your health. Manufacturers of coffee products have began offering decafinated coffee to rid their products of dangerous caffeine. The color of the soda does not matter, a clear flavored soda contains carbonation such as dark flavored sodas. Both types of sodas with its caffeine contents because of carbonation depletes the body's level of calcium that the body needs to stay healthy.
