One of the hottest debates in skin care these days is the argument over whether or not wrinkle creams actually work or not. You will see people that are adamant on both sides and somehow, they are both right. Unfortunately, there are a lot of products out there that are totally phony. However, if you know what to look for, you can weed out the ones that will actually do what they claim.

Vitamins C & E – both of these vitamins are critical to any skin care product that makes a claim against aging. Anti-oxidants are known to work their magic in a variety of ways, and aging falls right into that bracket. If they are going to be effective, these two vitamins must be present.

AHA – also known as Alpha Hydroxy Acid, is very effective in removing dead skin from the outer layer. This will leave your face with fresher skin and a better appearance. This ingredient is extremely effective when battling wrinkles that are around the mouth and eye areas.

Sun Screen – there are many reputable brands that include this so offering one over the other is senseless. The important thing is to make sure that you are using a sunscreen. The higher the number, the better off you are as it will protect you longer and keep the damaging rays from hurting your skin. At the very least, you should be using a sunscreen with a SPF of 15. Anything less and you are putting yourself at risk.

Hylaform – this is something that has had the Oprah Effect and it has taken it right into the public eye. The claim on this is that it works from within the skin to rebuild a more youthful look along with decreasing wrinkles. It is rather expensive and you will have to be the judge as to whether or not it works. However, if Oprah recommends it…

Vitamins A and B3 – both of these vitamins have been noted to help with various different skin problems so it is only natural to assume that they can also help in reducing wrinkles. These are vitamins that may not necessarily be needed in the cream, but if they are there, it is an added bonus for you. If you have to choose between one that has them and one that does not, play it safe and take the one that they are in.

You are going to see a lot of different claims when you are trying to find the right skin cream for wrinkles, and it will be up to you to separate fantasy from reality. You can be assured that there are creams that do work, it may just take some sampling on your part to get the one that works best for you.

Whatever you do, don’t believe everything that you read unless you can find a legitimate source that backs up their claim. Most of the testimonials on sites are plants, so your best bet is to look them up in skin care magazines and medical sites. Deep down, you will find the truth and a product that fits you perfectly.
