Make Water Consumption a Part of Your Workout Routine

Workout everyday or every other day to stay healthy and fit.  How should you consume water as you workout?  Should you consume waer as you work out or afterwards?

The summer season makes it nececessary for you to stay hydrated.  If you work out, consume water as part of your workout routine.  The old rule still is relevant and applies.  Drink at least eight glasses of water a day or two quarts.  As the temperature rises and the humidity increases as you jog or walk outside, increase your regular intake of eight glasses of water or bottled water.

You must continually replenish the water your body releases as you perspire during your work out routine.  Consuming plenty of water protects you against dehydration and heat exhaustion.

Don't Wait Until You are Thirsty to Rehydrate

Don't wait until you are thirsty to rehydrate while working out.  Even though you may not feel thirsty, you are letting go of a lot of water that your body needs to be replenished.  Drink about 7 to 10 ounces of water every 10 to 20 minutes as a rule during your workout.  If your workout last longer than an hour, consider replacing water with sports drinks that are great at replenishing electrolytes during your workout.  These sports drinks are made for the purpose of rehydration  that is essential for good health.  Sports drinks also give you energy and fuel to workout with revived engery and vitality.  The Parade publication reports that sports drinks may even enhance your workout.  Water however in its purest form is recommended as your dehydration drink of choice.

Don't forget to hydrate before and after your workout and not just during your workout.

I would add something I recently read, it stated the plastic bottles release some sort of toxin in the heat and most of the MFG. use this cheap plastic.

rb11, we are so on the same page with the plastic being toxic and there is information on the internet as to what constitute the sign to look for to recognize the plastic that is better for bottle water.

I knew of a co-worker of mine who would literraly pour water from the bottle without having the plastic to touch his lips in the attempt to not consume any of the toxic from the plastic. This particular person also knew what to look for on the plastic bottle to signify that the plastic was of a good grade.

I will surf the internet and maybe write a hubpage article about the toxic matter in bottled plastic that carries water.

rb11, great perspective on "About Your Workout and Bottled Water."
