About Artist Management:

Managing talents around the world takes many business skills with its high technologies and marketing demands. Communicating through emails or telephone allows managers to form a mental image of a musical performance provided by a talent. However, trust is the key to success for both the talent and manager.

In other words, emails are an advantage in our digital era because we can think what we want to say, type it, send it and then visualize those thoughts. Written thoughts and visions is reviewed and negotiated by talents, managers and industry professionals.

Nevertheless, thoughtful people make the best virtual managers because they offer support, respect and motivation. A manager's responsibility is to coordinate day-to-day tasks and support that will take a musical career to the next level.

Next, negotiating contracts is a very complicated position with many challenges and understandings from talents, managers and the entertainment world. It is a role of a talent manager to guide and lead talents of their musical prodigy to the top with what is required from the entertainment world. Human skills are a gift given to managers to help develop strengths by understanding business needs. These skills will develop into a strong business relationship offering many opportunities.

Knowing your strengths and weaknesses will eliminate any threats; this is a theory used in any business model.

However, most managers have to achieve projects with and through people. A talent manager will lead, influence, believe and manage others with skills and diplomacy by knowing whom to contact in the industry. Every talent is just as important as the other talent with individual needs, knowing where and who to target is important.

The objective is teamwork. The tasks are to make the efforts on the sources that will be most valuable to an individual project and to determine what is important to all involved. An effective manager will follow the 80-20 rule, which is, 80 percent efforts and 20 percent clients’ priorities.

In fact, leading talents in their career is a serious and sensitive position that takes passion. A talent manager is “part of the talent's team” leads their talents during and after decision-making. It is important for a manager to use ethics on what direction to go, as there are many channels to choose. All businesses have laws, rules, regulations and guidelines and integrity will lead to a win/win situation.

In conclusion, talent managers have reputable sources to manage and motivate a talents' goals successfully by doing what is right and knowing what is wrong. A professional manager will be well educated with ideas, beliefs and business skills. In addition, a successful talent has experience and knowledge that offer informative services to musical entertainers to gain strengths, recognition and value for their musical composition and performance.
