 * Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.. This is really nice quote with funny comparison. Because it is funny it is not only easy to remember but easy to implement as well. This try to say that accept the fact that sometimes you are the pigeon and sometimes you are statue. If you notice, statue cannot do anything when pigeon is spoiling the statue. However pegion feels great because Pigeon is not getting dirty and statue cannot tell anything to pigeon. However all day are not sunday. Law of Karma applies and one day pigeon has to face something similar.
In other words, You cannot be pegion or Statue whole life and take advantage of anyone for all the time or keep being victim all the time. Every dog has a day. :).
So always be humble and try to think 1000 times before you think of doing harm to anyone else. Because you will not be pegion all the life and sometimes when your time will not be good, you will be statue too. :)

 Question:

Most of my life I was a pigeon and now I am a statue... But I dont want to be the statue anymore nor the pigeon.... Can anyone suggest what I should do...I regret my past actions sincerly....How can I start afresh....

Answer:

As you accepted that you were a pigeon most of your life and now you are a statue. As I mentioned earlier, Law of karma applies. However since you are regretting your past action sincerely you can definitely change and shouldnt be statue your whole life.

First step in doing so is to forgive yourself for all the past mistake. Now I am not saying that forget your past mistakes. Forgive yourself for past mistake and learn lesson from them so that you do not repeat it again.

To come out of victim mentality forgiving yourself is a must. First step is to forgive yourself and then start loving yourself. Once you do that you will no longer be a statue. Since you learn from your past mistakes you will not be a pigeon as well. Remember the power is in Now. Whatever is happening now is the result of your past thoughts and karma however whatever will happen in future will be the result of your present thoughts and present karmas. Make present thoughts and present karma good and you will see the good future.

This realisation that you don't want to stay or continue as a statue will do the works for you. Its good you're seeing your face in the mirror. A lot more of us don't even realise let alone admit that they done anything bad in the past and generally continue to suffer and make their conditions from bad to worse.
Repentance is good. It cleans the soul of any rust and sediment. But remember it's better to forget the past and start afresh. Because remembering the past is like trying to drive a car with breaks on. It'll take you nowhere. Statue is a replica, a lifeless figure and useless excepting addiing a mark in the landscape. But you're not. God has given you every opportunity to change your circumstances. We may be the victim of our circumstances due to our ignornace for the first time but if it continue to repeat then we deserve it. This very thinking and the realisation that you want to change has made you win your half of the battle. So forget the past. Let be gone bygone.
Try to live by the day, one day at a time. Make each day a new challenge to you. Enjoy life.
In a few days you'll see that you've neither stayed as a statue or as meek as a pigeon but an Eagle, the real one, conquering the sky.

Well written article. Forgiving - I would like to say that this is the problem that faced by most people. I'm guilty about that too. Anyway, I don't feel that your writing is bored, it cuts straight to the throat. This is the first article that attraced me to read when I logged into hubpages.

Thanks.

I like the related quote, that I think I made up but I am sure it belongs to someone, "Be careful of who you step on the way up the (corporate / work) ladder, as those are the same people who will catch you if / when you may fall.

Love the title - and it is true. Some days you're the pigeon and some days, I'll go even further here, some days you're the poop! Here's to more being-the-pigeon-days.
