1. Take some strips of scrap fabrics of various lengths and lay them out according the height.

2. Place the longest strips in the middle and surround them with the others, on each side, exponentially getting shorter.

3. Fold a strip in half hot dog style with the right side visible, crochet a base loop, and, when you have an inch remaining, tuck the inch into the last loop attached on your crochet hook to secure the last knot.

4. Tuck the inch into the knot where you started the crochet and tug it taught to create a circle.

5. Repeat for all of the strips.

6. Sew the knots from end to end.

7. Take a long strip of scrap fabric in a complementary color and sew it to the end of your line of knots.

8. Rock it.

Seems like you could go crazy with this and make a real long piece for seasonal decorations or parties too.
