The salary levels range between $25000 - $45000 per years and again the specialization will be a big factor in this. In terms of sheer demand and numbers it is estimated that the demand will increase by 16% between 2002 and 2016 and those who specialize in the mental health and substance abuse it is expected to increase by 30%.

 


How to get a degree in social work

 The various degrees that are available in the social work area are masters in human services or the masters in public health. As far as bachelors degree is concerned it is mainly bachelor of science in psychology or the bachelor of science in  human services and management. Now within psychology there are a huge number of opportunities available to do your masters like psychology and social change or the counseling psychology.

Now you can either do your masters or bachelors in the social work area by joining a regular campus or a community college or you can just get that degree by enrolling yourself in an online degree programs. Before joining always make sure that the program that you are enrolling in is accredited and that will save you of a lot of problems later. The main course subjects include English composition and literature, psychology courses, history, social sciences, anthropology and cultural studies.The main course work in the social degree will involve case studies from the real life and also it will have about 200 hours of supervised social work. That will increase to about 900 hours in case you are going for the masters. In case you have done the bachelors in social work it will help but in general you can be from a different discipline and still be eligible to do your masters.
