Buy the AccuSharp (with replacement blades) for $12!
Folks, there simply is no better deal on the face of this planet when it comes to a knife sharpener. This particular get up, the AccuSharp Knife Sharpener with replacement blades is an absolute steal at $12. If you don't believe me just go read the reviews over on Amazon. One lady is rejoicing because she doesn't have to saw through tomatoes anymore!
You can buy a big, mechanical, electric knife sharpener for $50, $100, or however much you want to throw away. It may or may not work. It may just be too confusing for you to ever bother to figure out. Or you can buy this little jewel which has minimal parts, is not electric, and will do the job really well while lasting for years and years.
When it gets dirty or gets food on it, just throw it in the dishwasher. Or wash it like you wash all your other dishes in the sink. Soap, water: it can take whatever you throw at it. Just look at the picture: it is so simply designed even a caveman could use it.
The Replacement Blades
I chose to review the version which comes with the replacement blades because although you will not need them for several years they only cost about $2 extra tacked onto the normal price for the AccuSharp 001 Knife Sharpener. At that point, it's my belief you should just get the extra blades now instead of having to pay a whole new shipping and handling in five or ten years; whenever you decide to replace them. (AccuSharp says that you won't need to replace them for about 10 years.)
The replacement blades themselves are made of Diamond Honed Tungsten Carbide which will make for years of reliable and sharp use. This is truly a quality product that is not trying to rip you off and over charge you. It has quietly left a trail of very happy, beaming customers in its wake. These days, I think we're all a little bit surprised when something that costs $12 actually works, let alone works well!
Is it the New Premier Knife Sharpener? The Best?
In closing, I'd like to consider a question I've been pondering long and hard: might the AccuSharp Knife Sharpener with Replacement Blades be the new premier knife sharpener (and package) of its kind? This is really what it all comes down to: is it the best?
In my opinion, from all what I have tested, used, heard about, read about, etc. I would have to say it is the best bang for the buck by far. That is why it is such a best seller perennially. It just basically highjacks the entire market away from all those companies who are trying to hypnotize today's consumer into way over-paying for the sharpening of their knives. It's totally unnecessary, once you understand that this knife sharpener excels:
- It takes usually only about 5 swipes of the knife in order for it to be sharpened to its max (like new again).
- On a terrible knife that you have just put through the ringer for years and years, it may take up to a minute of sharpening in order for it to get back to like new condition, often for the first time in years and years.
- As I have repeatedly pointed out: it costs less than $12. My Lord!
Folks, it is always lovely when you can find and recommend such a solid piece of kitchen cutlery as this. The AccusSharp 001 knife sharpener will be around for a long time to come. It just does what it is supposed to too well to ever disappear.
