There are lot of similarities between the Greek epic "The lliad" and the Hindu mythology "Mahabharath".

There are several parallel line between story and the Indian epics.

Achilles, the greaest warrior is born to the Goddess of the sea. Beeshma, the greatest warrior is born to ganga, the Goddess of the rivers.

Achilles mother dipped him when he was a baby in immortal waters, but this heels remained dry, so that remained his weak point. Duryodhana's mother wanted to see him naked so that he becomes invincible during his one to one fight with Bhima on the last day of the Kurukshetra. But at the last minute, Duryodhana wears a loin cloth and so, that thigh region (hidden from Kunti's gaze) became his weak point.

Phonetically the Supreme God of the Greeks was called Zeus. it sounds similar to Jesus whose original name was Yeshowa which sounds similar to Ishwara.
