Acid reflux or just plain old indigestion is a big problem for a lot of people every where. I have read many things about what causes it and what you can do to prevent it. Most of the cures and preventions work a little but fall short of doing the job.

Some of the things I've tried are, prescription drugs, over the counter meds. These two work for a while but are believed to eventually do damage to your throat. They are also very expensive.

Peppermint is believe to help with indigestion, this is why restaurants give you a peppermint candy with your meal. I always thought it was for onion breath. I have also tried ginger root. I found that peppermint and ginger root are mainly for mild indigestion, not affective for acid reflux.

Of course eating the right foods and not eating late at night are also helpful in the battle against acid reflux. It some times seems like nothing really works. But finally we read about pineapple juice. It is said that pineapple has an enzymes in it that neutralizes the acid ( or something like that ). You will need to drink at least one glass of pineapple juice per day for about a week and then drink it every now and then as needed. I'm telling you it really worked. No more expensive over the counter medications, just good old juice. We were actually considering surgery to find relief but the problem is gone. Who would believe that something so simple could really work. My question is, dose anyone else know about this or has it worked for others or is this some crazy thing that just worked for us.
