Looking for an acid reflux disease diet to put yourself on so that you can better treat heartburn?  Heartburn sure can be an annoyance, the burning that starts at the top of your chest and then proceeds upwards towards your esophagus and throat, it can almost feel as if the food is coming back up and out!

Chocolate, candies and sweets – As yummy as those chocolate bars, cakes and deserts are, you’re going to have to set them aside to prevent persistent heartburn.

Alcohol – Yup, I’m afraid your late night friend on Fridays and Saturdays and maybe even weekdays is a big no-no. If you want to treat heartburn that won’t quit, stay away from this.

Caffeinated Beverages – This means no more coffee, pop or anything of the sort.

Citrusy Drinks – Stop drinking any orange juice, or any other kind of fruit juice.

Misc Foods – Here are a bunch of other things you’re not going to want o eat: Macaroni and cheese, potato chips, French fries, onions, garlic, tea, fast food and basically any other processed food you can think of.

Proteins:

For your proteins, eat chicken, turkey, fish, lean ground beef, skim milk, egg whites, no fat cottage cheese, protein shakes.

Carbs:

As far as carbs go, stick to complex carbs such as oatmeal, veggies, whole grain bread, brown rice, yams

Fats:

Now for fats, anything that is a nut will do, so almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews, pine nuts and peanuts are good.

That about wraps it up. With this acid reflux disease diet, you should be seeing a definitive decrease in your episodes, but if you’re looking for more than this, search around the net for some additional remedies for heartburn or heartburn medication you can take.
