Acid Reflux
60Do you have heartburn that will not go away or keeps you from sleeping at night? No matter what you eat or don't eat, it is still there? You probably have what is called Acid Reflux, but don't despair, there is help.
I suffered with acid reflux on and off for many years, never knowing what was the cause. It was about 6 months ago when my son started suffering from it as well. His symptoms were so severe that we thought he was having gall bladder trouble. I began to look for a long term solution to the problem. Taking pills and popping antacids was not how I wanted either myself or my son to continue.
There are a number of symptoms, which can be mild to severe ... burning feeling in your chest, burning in your throat, excessive burping or belching, bloating or tightness in your stomach, bitter or sour taste in your mouth, difficulty swallowing, cough, hoarseness, nausea, sore throat, ear ache, asthma or sinusitis.
When my son had his first bad attack with acid reflux he was in so much pain he just wandered around the house unable to even sit or take a deep breath. He said it felt like he was going to vomit...But he couldn't even get up a small burp. Those attacks he had lasted up to an hour, but the acid reflux would go on for days. At that time my mission was to find a cure for both my son and I.
Acid reflux is a condition in which the liquid content of the stomach backs up, or refluxes into the esophagus. This will in turn cause you discomfort or can become very painful. The longer the acid stays in your esophagus, the more discomfort it will cause you. There can be complications from the acid constantly being in contact with your esophagus and ulcers can develop and possibly even lead to esophageal cancer. Antacids help for a little while, but won't correct your problem. If you have been to your doctor, they will usually prescribe a Proton pump inhibitor. For some people these work, but for the majority of people they do not help, besides being very expensive. Proton pump inhibitors are not intended to be taken for more than a couple weeks, plus they have many adverse side effects, which may include headache, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, fatigue and dizziness. Besides both of which can have serious side effects.
You can cure your acid reflux ... Enjoy food again ... Feel better all around ... Sleep without interruption.
