As you already know, acne is an annoyance; it makes you look bad and feel worse. It is hard to treat and it seems to take forever for most treatments to actually work. This simply does not cut it if you need to get rid of acne fast. You will glade to learn that there are products, called spot treatments that can treat your acne a lot faster than weeks; in some cases they may cure your acne in less than twenty-four hours. This type of treatment works because it delivers a very concentrated dose of medication to one zit at a time, this makes it the best acne treatment in my book.

So, how does it work?

As you may have already figured out from the name, acne spot treatments work by delivering a very concentrated dose of chemicals to a very small area of skin. Normally you apply the acne spot treatment to zit before it is fully inflamed, but it can also be useful in treating a full blown zit. Generally the instructions will tell to apply it before bed and leave it on overnight. This gives the active ingredients plenty of time to absorb into the skin.

You should keep in mind that because spot treatments are so highly concentrated, you should not apply it to large areas of skin. If you have an outbreak of multiple zits this may not be a good option for you. This type of treatment works best on one or two zits at a time.

Acne Dry Spot®

There are a few specific brands that I have used, and I feel comfortable introducing you to them here. My favorite is called Acne Dry Spot. This treatment is one that I have used on myself, and I have had great results. The first time I used this product I applied it to a pimple that I had on my nose of all places. I put it on before bed and went to sleep. About ten hours later, I am a late sleeper, I awoke to find that my pimple had almost completely vanished and all of the swelling had gone down. I applied it a second night and when I woke up the next day the zit was completely gone. Because I did not use any other treatment for this particular zit, I have to give 100% credit to this product.

Clean & Clear Overnight Acne Patch® is another product that I would like to mention. I do not use this product, actually I never have, but it is my girl friends favorite. She first started using this product about six months ago and she has used it exclusively every since. I have watched it work on her face, she will put it on a pimple before we go to bed and the next morning the pimple has either almost vanished or it is completely gone. This product is expensive, which is why I do not use it, but she wouldn’t use anything else. So, if you are serious about treating your acne fast, and you have the extra money to spend on it, then I would definitely recommend it.

Last on my list is Neutrogena On-the-Spot Patch®, which like Clean & Clear® is a fairly expensive product. I have used it in the past, and while I did not have amazing results with it, it did provide some healing for already inflamed acne. The reason that I included this product in the list is because it contains 2% salicylic acid, which is a mega dose if you are not familiar with acne products. So, if you want to try a new product, and you have a few extra bucks to spend, go for this one.

Acne Spot treatments are nothing like regular treatment options. They are a stronger version of the same active ingredients found in regular treatments. The reason that I recommended within the body of this article that you do not use this type of treatment on large areas of your skin is because too much of the active ingredient will absorb into your skin.
