Acne is a very common disorder, which affects many individuals all over the world. Even though acne is very common in adolescents, it can affect people at any age and thus there's always a need for effective acne treatments. Acne is induced by various causative agents such as bacterial infection, abnormal menstrual periods, hormonal imbalance, or environmental irritants.

Acne Treatments for Children

Almost all the newborn male babies have acne-like eruptions on their cheeks during the first week after the birth and they may develop until the baby is almost six months old. This is because of the impact of hormonal imbalance on their skin after the withdrawal of parental estrogens after delivery. This is very common and it does not require any treatment, as it does not produce any scaring. If you want to safeguard your child from irritating itching, you may provide mild acne treatments to your child.

Children may get acne easily when they are hot, fussy, or when their skin is irritated. Breastfeeding is the best remedy for the acne-like eruptions in babies. Using lotions or oils may not help you controlling your baby acne however some of the over the counter drugs such as hydrocortisone cream will provide great results. Whatever the treatment you choose for your children, you must not use it without consulting a physician.

Some natural moms like to use breast milk on the acne. Because breast milk is alive and contains high levels of antibodies it has proven to be very effective in both preventing and curing acne in children.

Acne Treatments for Women

Almost all men and women might have had a couple of pimples during their puberty however for some women acne may affect them until their 30s or 40s. Teens get acne because of the hormonal changes that trigger the outbreaks. Acne is very common in men but a considerable amount of women are also affected by acne.

The development of acne in women is mainly because of the hormonal changes and irregular menstrual cycle. Besides getting physical problems, women are more susceptible to mental stress because of acne. Stress should be avoided at all costs because it can aggravate the condition. Women are encouraged to join a yoga or gym routine to help them minimize their stress condition.

Women should be very careful while choosing chemical acne treatments, especially when they are pregnant or breastfeeding women. Taking an herbal acne remedy will be safer and more effective for breastfeeding moms. You may want to consult your doctor or midwife for their recommendations on herbal remedies as all are not safe for breastfeeding.

Using Aloe vera products will give better results, as they contain about 20 amino acids and beneficial alkaloids that seem to moisturize and sooth your skin. Using another herb Angelica sinensis, which is commercially known as Dong Quai, will provide better results in controlling acne, as this can stimulates circulation of blood throughout the body that can help to supply sufficient amount of blood to the affected dermis. This helps in the cleansing of the impurities present in the skin in a natural way.
