The complex of being, a masquerade of guise

Showing only what I wish to

Femme fatale of surprise

Personifying beauty, occasionally enraged

Teasing need for great affection

Then I quickly turn the page

Flashback scenes from my life's movie

Cherished, each and every frame

Suit of my new character, happily re-trained

Betty Davies, the great Liz Taylor

Or perhaps Marilyn Munro

All of them my mentors

For their scripts I surely know

I'm considering this new concept

What if I could just be me

Not the mother, nor the daughter

Nor the leaf in every tree

Neither councillor or lover, which stretches many branches

Remove the blanket cover, I wonder what I'd see

Much to frightening a reality

Far to daunting a task

Encase me with my playwright

Replace the safety of my mask

Tomorrows act will be a winner

Of this I have no doubt

Singing, dancing I'll continue

Until I am played out
