Though children are continuously learning as they grow, the most crucial years in their development are their earliest years. Children are especially curious and eager to learn when they are in the toddler stage, so it is important that you stimulate this desire for learning and make fun and developmentally appropriate activities for toddlers. Some parents think that since these children are young, they do not understand the simplest things; therefore, talking to them would be pointless. However, children especially toddlers, need to develop their communication skills and they would not be able to do that without your help. They improve their communication skills by having frequent interaction with the people around them and if they do not get that, they will have developmental delays.

Activities for young children are not only necessary to stimulate their brain but to also strengthen your relationship. You would really have to bond with your children if you want them to grow loving you. The reason why so many children grow to be cold to their parents is their parents were so busy doing other things during their growing up years. You might think that since the children still have really young minds, they would not mind being taken cared of by a nanny. Of course, you could use a nanny’s help in raising your children but it is also important that you spend time with your children. During your free times, play with them and stimulate their learning by doing fun activities. If your toddler is enrolled in a preschool, you might say that since they already do these activities in the preschool, doing them at home would be unnecessary. However, what toddlers need is consistency and following routines. If they follow routines in the preschool and these get broken at home, the learning would not be consistent. It is vital that the activities would be continued even at home because the child actually spends a lot more time at home than in the preschool.

There are tons of fun activities for toddlers that you could do in order to stimulate their brains and have more quality time with your children. These activities could be as simple as playing with some objects in the house. Toddlers could really make use of tactile learning as they use their senses in learning new concepts. You could ask your child to get any random object found in the house—keep away the knives and other dangerous objects—and let him explore the different areas of that object. While he is doing this, you could ask him questions on what he thinks about the object and its functions. It is important that you ask him questions that would make him come up with sensible answers and would enable him to discover a new concept.

Crafts are also something that toddlers enjoy. These little ones really love when they get their hands dirty with glue or finger paint. Letting them paint and create handcrafts would further develop their fine motor skills. If you do these activities regularly, your toddler would be able to develop the use of his hands and would be able to do more things.

The important thing in educating your toddler is to let him explore. Imagination and exploration are the keys to learning for these children so you better be ready to let them run wild and do their own thing. Just guard them carefully and lead them to the concepts that they should learn. As a parent, you could both be a facilitator and the playmate of your toddler so make the best of it. Spend more time with your child by doing fun activities for toddlers and help them learn faster.

I stay busy with my toddler doing all sorts of things. He likes to put paper tubes on his arms and act like a robot. One of the things we love is to put rolls of white paper on the walls and draw as a family. We made an enchanted forest in April. It also works great for children's parties.

Check out my fave activity with my daughter on my page if you are interested. We tell stories, and I posted some of them to read.
