Born November 22, 1984 in Manhattan, New York, Scarlett Johansson has definitely turned some heads in Hollywood. She is reported as one of Hollywood's most promising young actresses.

Johansson has an older sister, a half brother and a twin brother who is three minutes younger than she is. Her father, Karsten Johansson was an architect and her mother Melanie Sloan was a produces. Johansson's mother began taking her to auditions when she was just a child. In 1994, she made her first film debut in ‘North.'



She is recognized by many for her stunning performance as Grace, in the 1998 film, the ‘Horse Whisperer. She was only 14 years old. Following successful films include the 2001 ‘Ghost World,' 2003 ‘Lost in Translation,' and the 2003 movie ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring.'

Also in 2003, she received two nominations for the Golden Globes. One was for ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring,' and the other for ‘Lost in Translation.' In 2005, she played Jordan Two Delta in ‘The Island.' As well as ‘The Island', she performed in ‘Match Point,' where she received another Golden Globe nomination.


 

Over the last few years, she has appeared in several movies and currently has projects underway.
