Google AdWords PPC Quality Score
In Google AdWords what you pay for your advertising depends on several factors. The main factors that you can influence fall under the Quality Score. In AdWords the Quality Score is primarily a measure of relevance. Relevance of the Keyword to:
- Ad Copy
- Destination URL
- Landing Page
Within the Ad Copy there are 4 factors that affect Quality Score:
- Headline
- Ad Copy (Description Lines #1 and #2)
- Display URL
- Ad Group
In Google's ideal world you would write a unique ad for each keyword in its own ad group pointing to a unique landing page optimized for that keyword.
Free Google AdWords Tool in Development
I have tried a number of tools for Google AdWords. Only 1 of those tools really did what I wanted. However, it costs $500 and does a lot more than I ever needed. And even this $500 tool didn't quite give me the flexibility I was looking for.
As I stated above, Google's ideal situation is when you create an Ad Group for each keyword. Within that Ad Group you write 2 or more ads targeted very specifically at that single keyword. Google likes to see the keyword in the Display and Destination URLs as well as in the Headline and Ad Copy (either Line #1 or #2 usually works well).
Obviously this is very time consuming for even a small list of keywords. And if you are new to a niche you will likely be looking to compete in keywords that are a little neglected. They are most likely neglected because they have little traffic or they don't convert well. Hopefully you've gathered up a list of at least 10 keywords.
My free AdWords tool (when ready) will allow you to create a campaign, set the max CPC, set the keywords, and set dynamic ad copy. The benefit of dynamic ad copy is that you can replace your keyword with a token ({kw}). The tool will replace the token with one of your keywords. Ultimately my free AdWords tool will cycle through each of your keywords and replace the token with a keyword from the list.
The tool will email you 2 text files. Those files will contain the text you need to copy and paste directly into the Google AdWords Editor. The ads will be constructed such that you will have created 1 ad group per keyword with ad copy unique to each keyword (assuming you use the token). Your Quality Score should improve immediately.
Feature Requests?
The tool I have planned is a simple string manipulator written in PHP that will run from my Work At Home website. You will be able to Enter a campaign name, a list of keywords, max CPC for broad, phrase & exact matches, as well as ad copy with tokens.
If you've read my hub on PPC Geographic Targeting then you realize that you will need some means of adding prefixes and postfixes to a list of generic keywords. Such as "walmart" + "Los Angeles". This can be accomodated using the prefix and postfix feature.
I've given you just a brief overview of what I will be including in my beta release (hopefully by Aug 8th). I welcome any feature requests you may have - please leave them in the comments.

Typically Google keeps that kind of thing well protected. Also, a third party tool really can't calculate the Quality Score accurately. This is because part of your Quality Score is based on your Account history with Google. Part of it is based on the domain's history in Google. And yet another part of your QS is based on the competition - CTR, history, etc.
The QS is not a static value. You start with an initial QS which is largely based on your ad copy and landing page - assuming no account or domain history with Google. Each and every time you get an impression or click your QS is recalculated.
The best I could provide would be some form of ad copy checker. A landing page checker is a little outside my current php skills. I'll look into it though.
