Adding pictures and videos to your website or Blog.
48Adding things to your blog / websites
People ask me about this quite often on how to add something to their website or blog. My answer to this is that depends on what you are using, and how you are using it. What I mean by this is that if you are using wordpress on THEIR server, you may be a bit limited as to what you can do. There are ways to get around it provided that they allow you to post html code. (Hypertext markup links). Its always a good idea to learn some basic skills in html if you will be doing some blogging. It's not as hard as you think.
Say there is a picture already online that you want to link to... (with the website owner's permission of course. If you don't ask permission, this is called "hot linking" to a picture and is NOT recommended. The website owner will get quite upset with you if they find out you're using up all their bandwith.)
A GREAT resource for learning some basic HTML for FREE is the htmlgoodies.com website. You can learn just about anything you want from that site at no cost. Here's a link for you to see how to add images to a site: http://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/html/article.php/3478181
As for getting royalty free images, you can try several different places for that as well as royalty free video clips.
You can try revostock.com for free video clips, or motionloops.com. You can go to istock photos online and buy picture credits for as little as a dollar a piece. (this is where I buy all of mine from and LOVE it). They don't want you to use the photos for print advertisements and you can't really change them, but they are royalty free. They actually encourage you to use them on your website as the photographers want to get their work noticed. You Tube: You can embed a YouTube video into your site by simply going to the particular video you are interested in on YouTube and copy the code that says "embed this link". You copy it, and paste it into your blog or website in HTML mode.
