59German sportwear maker Adidas launched legal proceedings against the world's biggest retailer, Wal-Mart, claiming that it copied some of its products, according to a company spokeswoman. The second-biggest global sportswear group after Nike, Adidas filed a motion with a court in the US state of Oregon, home to its US headquarters, charging that Wal-Mart copied models of Adidas footwear, the German business daily Handelsblatt reported. Wal-Mart used a striped logo similar to the one associated with Adidas products, displaying two or four stripes, whereas the German company's trademark is three, the Adidas spokeswoman said.
"Adidas recently won a lawsuit against a US maker of sports shoes for the same reason and obtained $305 million from an Oregon court in damages and interest,"

yeah, I'm surprised Wal-Mart doesn't have more lawsuits for things like this.
Wal-Mart will probably settle out of court. I don't see them going down without a fight.

Wal Mart think they are too big to go against I would think. For every lawsuit there must be 2 where the wronged party do not have the resources, or inclination for the long fight in the courts.
I think ADIDAS should be a law firm.
Interesting as I never knew this, I wonder why it took ADIDAS so long to figure that one out? I personally know a couple of the family members who I will not disclose however somebody always seem to go after WAL-MART. Believe me they have a very large legal team and I am certain it will settle for a few cool million and the rest will be history.:) I guess there logo says it all and they finally took there head out of the clouds and did something.:)
