Background Removal

So you want to remove a background of an image eh? Well I guess you have found the right Hubpage ^_^. There are a lot of ways to do this but today I'm gonna show you how to do it using Quick Mask Mode. In Quick Mask Mode you can easily select parts of an image just by painting over it. So lets get started shall we?

Step 1

Open the image you wish to edit, It can be anything you want

Step 2

Click the Quick Mask mode in the toolbox or just hit 'Q' on the keyboard, Then brush over the part of the image you wish to extract but don't worry about any mistakes or painting outside of the part you want because you can just as easily use the Eraser tool (E) and erase what you do not want the selection.

Step 3

Hit Q to exit Quick Mask mode or click the icon in the toolbox.

Step 4

Now that you have made the selection you can press delete on the keyboard or invert the selection to highlight the image and cut it instead of the background it really depends on what you will do to your image and take note that in Quick Mask mode the parts NOT in red will be the one selected once you exit quick mask mode.

Bonus

Now its really up to you what you want to do with your image, You can add a little flavor to or making it a little scary. Its all up to you you can plainly change the background to black (Bonus 1) or Go overboard (Bonus 2)

Thank You for reading this article!

Thanks for sharing! Photoshop has so many options that one can easily get lost in the jungle of tools and brushes. You take the gist and guide the reader out of the jungle.
