Trick or Treat!

I've recently moved to an area where, I've been assured by my neighbors, I will be answering the door to lots and lots of little ghouls, goblins, and witches on Halloween night. We've never gotten a great number of trick or treaters in the areas we've lived in before, so I'm pretty excited about it.

Of course, my beloved Diane, seen right, will also be excited when the doorbell starts to ring. I don't want her to scare the kids, so I've decided that putting her in a ridiculous costume may help to ease the anxieties that her barks may cause.

Here are some of the gems that I've found:

Z & Z Pumpkin Pooch Costume Lrg Z & Z Pumpkin Pooch Costume Lrg
Price: $13.75
List Price: $27.99

What a cute little punkin!

I can see Diane's eyes rolling now... and I love it! Really, I think this may be one of the cutest dog costumes I've seen.

Seriously, who doesn't love pumpkins?

This costume comes in other sizes, as well.

Casual Canine Lil Stinker Costume Sm Casual Canine Lil Stinker Costume Sm
Price: $7.69
List Price: $23.99

For the stinker in your life...

... how about this skunk costume? I got a good giggle out of this one, and thought it would be especially appropriate for anyone who's ever had their dog get sprayed by a real skunk - yuck!

This costume also comes in additional sizes, with Amazon listing each size separately.

Casual Canine Lobster Paws Costume Sm Casual Canine Lobster Paws Costume Sm
Price: $9.95
List Price: $23.99

Surf...

Lobstah! Get yuh fresh lobstah! And don't fuhget the buttah!

I think this one should win a prize for originality - it's certainly not one that I've seen before.

... or turf?

"Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Meyer Weiner..."

The good old hot dog costume is a classic, but still cute, and likely to make every other dog in the 'hood follow your costumed pooch around.

The hot dog comes in a variety of sizes, and different manufacturers have slightly different versions, but I think they're all adorable.

If you can wrestle your pooch into this one... Zorro!

While cute and unusual, it does seem as though this costume has lots of parts to try to get Fido to wear. I'd recommend this only for the very tolerant pup!

Big Pimpin'

Oh, this one brings to mind sooo many inappropriate comments...

Suffice it to say, if my boy dog were going to be home on Halloween, I know what he would be wearing.

If you've got a dog with a limp, or gansta lean, this would be absolutely perfect!

There are lots of other etailers out there with pet costumes, but I truly found the best selection at Amazon. From Yoda and Princess Leia to bunnies and dinosaurs, the Halloween options for dressing your four-legged friend have never been better.

When looking for costumes, please also bear in mind that different sizes are available for many, but you may need to search to find the size you need because they aren't always listed on one page.

Additionally, please keep your pet's safety in mind this Halloween, and at all other times of year!

Freakin hilarious! My personal fave is the lobstah costume. Now I have to look for my cats. I hope Diane looks great on Halloween!

Thanks! I did see a cat in a devil costume on Amazon (and thought of Christoph's hub about his evil cat), and considered picking up a couple of them for my two cats... but, frankly, I'm afraid of the form the payback may take.

Oh, man you make me laugh! I died at your "Maine Fisherman" accent: "Lobstah! Get yuh fresh lobstah! And don't fuhget the buttah!" That had me laughing out loud (as of yet I have resisted these emotive acronyms such as LOL, and ROFL, etc.) Having a "dog with a limp or a gangsta lean" is freakin hilarious! If my little Yorick were still around, I'd go for the skunk for sure, and probably the Pimp for the Dalmation. He's be looking sweet in those threads and his one eye!

I hope you sold some doggie costumes! You deserve it for this gem!

Beautiful.

Thanks, Christoph! Glad you got a chuckle out of it. This is a really low-scoring hub, but it was fun to put together. :)
