My Adsense Earnings day by day (updated on week-end - last: February 17th, 2008)
79- Sorry my daily adsense earnings won't be posted any more
As you can see I have stopped to update my adsense earnings here. My intention was to help and encourage newbies like me and let them know that it is indeed possible to make more than a few dollars per month...
February 17th
I have updated the daily earnings with a screen capture of Google Adsense Account. Daily average is clearly lower than the previous month : a daily average of 1$60 well below 2$ which was anticipated seeing trend. Fluctuation has also become very irregular around this average. The reason: well maybe the stock market as advertizers would spend less.
A few months ago, I didn't believe that one could make some money online just by creating a blog and expecting people to click on ads with advertizers bidding on them. But I'm not the kind of guy just making judgement on feelings so I wanted to disprove myself.
What astonished me is that I can get some high value clicks sometimes up to 5 dollar on occasions: I really scratch my head for how can an advertizer be willing to pay such an amount for just one or two clicks ? I won't get any answer as Google doesn't allow any traceability between the click and the page which generated it or of course the ad that was clicked.
So now I decided to inspire from John Chow - the dot com mogul who earns 30000$ per month who Makes Money Online by Telling People How Much Money he Makes Online - and disclose my adsense earnings day by day for newbies who would be interested to know how much another newbie can do with adsense.
Yes I'm a newbie like you: I started less than a year ago and I'm now willing to share my experiences. The amount is not as important as the learning process.
I warn than I cannot disclose everything because of Google TOS like my eCPM so you will only get my total earnings. Also I don't disclose all the accounts I use because there are some cheaters who would just copy some of my hubs.
For people new to Hubpages I remind that my Adsense Revenue is 60% of total impressions as Hubpages gets 40% but that's fair since they've done a great job at optimizing Adsense with their platform.
And remember this, making a living from blogguing is a full time job:
"Over the last 3 years I’ve consistently worked 40-60+ hour weeks on my blogging. At one point I was posting 20-30 posts per day (mainly news related posts back then). Most bloggers that make a full time living from blogging work corresponding hours on it."
January 2008 (partial result): 53$ (23 days average: 2.30$ per day extrapolated 69$ per 30 days , 841$ per Year)
I lost 8 days of adsense earnings because I switched to another account - as I used a friend's account - that's why January's records starts only on 9th:
January 9: $2.65
January 10: $4.38
January 11: $3.77
January 12: $4.39
January 13 - Sunday: $1.82
January 14: $1.76
January 15: $2.31
January 16: $2.31 (not a mistypo: exactly the same than yesterday :) )
January 17: $2.03 (updated from $1.85 which was partial result)
January 18: $2.56
January 19: $1.45 (catastrophic earnings on Saturday ! a huge drop in traffic)
January 20: $3.31
January 21: $2.94 (upgraded from 1.84 which partial result)
January 22: $1.08 (so bad ! half click, but impressions number is like average so I do not worry ... not yet :) )
January 23: $3.75 (compensated yesterday's low: what a relief !)
January 24: $2.48
January 25: $3.14
Saturday, January 26, 2008: $0.64
Sunday, January 27, 2008: $0.85
Monday, January 28, 2008: $0.31
Tuesday, January 29, 2008: $0.86
Wednesday, January 30, 2008: $1.84
Thursday, January 31, 2008: $1.81

My comment
13-01: I have added the daily average which is today 3.8$. If one extrapolates for the month it would mean 3.8*30=114$ ! That would be a steady growth for my earnings again (November it was 38.5$ December it was 59$) and I can't believe it as I'm a very conservative guy: at the moment I think it's due to luck and that this average is not sustainable, I would be happy if I were wrong :)
14-01: the average has dropped to 3.42$ due to Sunday lower eCPM.
15-01: the average has dropped to 3.14$ traffic has been increasing while CPC has been decreasing.
17-01: the average is now probably targeting its normal value around 2$.
22-01: earnings has dropped to new low. Like in stock market the hardest part is psychological: not to jerk at every random variation :)- Wanna join HubPages ?

Oh wow, this is inspiring! Now I can tell my wife that it is worthwhile! :)
Kenny no matter what you tell her...you are the right ONE...WHY WOULD SHE STILL LOVE YOU AND YOU HER?? Oh please don't destroy my image of the 2 of you..although I have done it ..we have done it to many friends that thought we were the ideal couple....actually so did I...but...God has other plans..an m ready for them,G-Ma :O)
hehe, G-ma, I meant that this disclosure of makemoneyonline is useful! I showed it to my wife to tell her that hubbing can be worthwhile! Didn't mean our marriage! Where does love come into this? Sleep well!
love is the reason for it all my dear...i guess i was some where else...Please forgive me...I wilstand tall..no matter what...did you notice my mistakes? G-Ma :O)
And it is just the woman in me...You got it right..my brain is so confused..come on over..the woman working on you !!!and AM A BIT HAPPY TONIGHT..SO FORGIVE ME G-MA :o)
is that jpg YOUR earning?
Oh, Jerrico, I thought it was! And is it all from hubpages, too?
It's okay, G-Ma. :)
No Jpg is not mine since I don't earn 2000$ per month yet but only 60$ per month :)
But yes it is mostly from Hubpages and a little bit from Blogger.
Okay, 60$ is not bad. But you earn stleast 3$ a day. That should make it 90$?
Oh, maybe it is that your per day earnings have increased recently.
All the best!
That's it maybe daily earnings has increased : I will know at the end of the month only :)
Hey, are these earnings only from your hubpages or from somewhere else?
Hi Tommen, I said it above while answering Kenny: it's mostly from Hubpages.
Its actually not to bad, But as I have stated before hubpages is not meant to be a sole income producer really. Its ment to potentate your web business, practice writing skills etc. If this were a serious money maker for the authors you would have already seen the marketers take over.
Just my opinion
Thank you for this hub!!!!!!!
I got in this to make some money and so far peanuts is right. you can't even get paid till you reach $100.00 so how many months does that take?? maybe we are all doing something wrong??
Hi Trakker14,
With my earnings I can cashout every 2 months and I hope every month sooner or later.
If you wanna make money with adsense you must be patient because search engines do take some time to rank your article and you must choose your niche carefully for high paying keywords and/or write hubs on many niches to have a probability to catch the adsense clicks.
too little...some other sites give way way too much. of course i have posted only 10 hubs and dont know the potential here yet, nor makemoneyonline's efforts....but the site i regularly post in has given me more than $1000 in 4 months (all adsense)... i am hoping hubpages too will measure up :-)
Really ? Then post it here :)
Very encouraging! Thanks so much :)
Thanks, but I have many accounts not just this one. It took me a lot deal of months to build them.
And I'm always worried that earnings could drop suddenly if Google decide it so one day It would prevent me to sleep :)
You've made me want to check my earnings. :-) I just wish they look like that jpg. Ha.
It's my long term objective :)
Here is a real Inspiring Adsense Check Picture
http://plentyoffish.wordpress.com/2006/06/07/small
Wow thanks for the link, it's inspiring : if he can do it why not me :)
wow, like a lil snowball.....
Lot of hardwork for such meagre earnings, not that I have any. Wouldnt be easier to work somwhere the time you are writting. But it is possible that in the long run it could work out. Hope it does for you.
Well for me it's no more hard work: it has become a passive income as I don't really update all the blogs (excluding this one).
I would like to know what happened I was getting about 8 or 9 bucks a day in adsense now I dont get none maybe 24 cents. Has adsense changed, or was it because my blog template changed.
Are Meta Tags really needed in a blog? maybe thats the problem
You might want to try some affiliate advertising. It can be done without seeming to be such. I've done that, and I've made a little off of that.
I think the main thing is traffic. You have to get traffic, or you won't get clicks. It's a numbers game, unfortunately.
Good luck! It's a good start.
DannyD...yes, Adsense has changed. It's because of the clickbots that were causing their customers to have to spend money for invalid clicks. So now they have a different method. I got 600 visits and 20 clicks one day when I spent a lot of time advertising, and they didn't pay any of them. I've got an inquiry in to ask why.
dafla thanks for you comment. Yeah I will try affiliates, I'm studying it before committing any money. And I won't do that on hubpages as it isn't suited for that kind of activities.
likethisfree if you wanna make any money you must write article of at list 300 to 500 words on topics that can drive high paying keywords. I visited your hubs it doesn't seem to have much writing content.
I'm right there with you. My CPC for adsense has halved since the start of the month.
i just make 0.04$ today and below 1$ per week. any suggestion?
likethisfree if you wanna make dollar you must write articles regularly each week wich are informative (hubpages is not meant to be a personal journal diary) and about 300 to 500 words each.
Hmm, interesting. I have about 3 times the hubs that you do, and I make more like 6-8 times the Adsense.
Good luck on your break from HubPages, though, if anything, I'd think that it would be harder to make money that way, since HubPages does so well in google search rankings.
Hi Maddie, I'm honoured you visited my hub, I often mentioned Jimmy Jock, Sun Seven or You as best performers on Hubpages and that I'm very small compared to all of you :)
When you say you have 3 times hub, in fact I have many other accounts so I have many more hubs than you that is in truth you are making 100 times more than me on Adsense !
The reason being my hubs are generally of low quality so I get very low traffic but I have high eCPM for 1 click each day probabilistically.
I also agree with you that Hubpages is very well optimized as I wrote myself here http://hubpages.com/hub/Why-switch-to-hubpages that's the very reason I began on Hubpages after trying to do so on Blogger and I advised beginners to rather follow this path.
But now I have gained some experiences, I won't use Blogger but my own blogging platform and I will be as patient because I know that's one of the key factor. Most people want cash quick and that doesn't always work that way except for great talents like you :)
Its my view that bloggers go out and build the best blog they can. The blog is then monetized with everything that works. The blogger sits back and waits for the clicks to come rolling in. While their waiting they surf other blogs for ideas etc. Now what I don't understand, why doesn't that blogger look at a few ads that might be of interest? They expect everyone else to be happy little clickers but won't click themselves. I most times find an advertisement that interests me, I have even been known to purchase just from reading that advertisement.
As to earnings dropping this month my first port of call would be checking low converting pages with adsense on them. I dropped a whole site and my cpc went through the roof.
It is difficult for me to figure out why working 40 to 60 hours a week earns only $90 per month. It might be more profitable to work part time at a real job, and use the spare time to publish high quality materials online.
Blogs optiminzed for AdSense are not difficult at all. I have several using free Wordpress templates.
The trick to making money seems to be to get free traffic.Google has to like what you write, and people have to be searching for the same topic that write about.
Then, you must write in a competitive market where the advertisers bid up the price of the links.
In my field, free instructional materials for teachers, I can say that the vendors are not bidding very much, so that individual clicks pay very little. There is also the problem of providing great content.I provide lots of content and free downloads, and visitors are motivated to stay on the site and acquire the materials. After the visitors have grabbed the free content, maybe they will click an AdSense link because it provides access to additonal content.
I hope that Hubpages provides traffic to my content pages.
Hmm you misread :) It's not me who is working 40-60 hours per week but Darren Rowse whom I quoted and he's not making $90 per month of course but $20000 per month :)
Nice hub , interesting facts. My adsense story is very sad .. I don`t know how on earth I managed to gain 2000+ impressions on two blogs and only 2 clicks , you can imagine the earning potential, Here on hubpages i managed to get 2 clicks in 4 weeks witth 7 posted hubs but I did not get paid for them:| shangrila your post is really interesting, could you share with us what forum has paid you 1000$ in 4 months ? There are many well known ad revenue forums but I never heard of anyone that earned more than 2 bucks in a month from them and they are very popular. I would apreciate if you share your story .
Great I think that's a great start for passive income. It's better than a poke in the eye... That's for sure
Sorry to play the sad guy, but are you sure disclosing your earnings is compatible with the AdSense Terms & Conditions ? It would be silly to get excluded because of this excellent hub.
Hi Rob,
It is allowed, what isn't allow is to disclose the eCPM.
Why have you stoped updating your earnings?
Look at the title: I said I will update it only once a week. Daily update is too daunting for me as I work at a regular job :)
Thanks for sharing your real wiorld experience. I just posted my first hub and didn't do any monetizing - I'll need to think about it since the ads are there no matter what.
thanks for sharing this info. It does need constrant activity and while I am not one to work full time I do like checking daily to see if I've earned anything. Maybe one day I can put more effort into it.
hi ..my earning in adsense is 1$ per day nd somedays it reduces to 0$ how increases my earnings...
The thing that I have found with Adsense is that it works in baby steps. Sure, I started out with days that made a big $0.10, but that is okay. What really gets me excited is that it is money that I did work for once. I'll separate it from this paragraph:
Work once, get paid many times.
That sentence gets me very excited. Currently I make an average of $15 per day with Adsense over a number of sites. That makes my business profitable every month even after hosting costs and domain name renewals. In theory, I could never work another day in my life and make money each day regardless - and for me, that rocks!
prems4u you have beenhere since only 3 weeks so be patient. Also if you tackle a very competitive niche you'd better have very original articles or change your niche. For example as for me since my own hubs makemoneyonline is in this "money" field, I don't even try to monetize it : I didn't even lose my time to put my adsense id on it :)
MarcNorris I really agree with you. And congrats you do better than me I don't do 15$ per day yet "only" 2-3 dollars per day but it's growing and I don't even maintain my blogs so it's really "FREE" money now :)
I don't even make $1.00 per day. What am i doing wrong and do you have to purchase ad-words to succeed?
You don't have to purchase adwords to succeed. It just takes a little time. The longer you stay and the more unique and high quality hubs, the more you'll make.
I make an average of $7-$10 a day, most of which comes from HubPages.
flread45 no I don't buy adwords, it's worth only for professional blogs or you could ruin yourself :)
I have visited your hubpages, it should interest people but you are are only here since six weeks and if your topics are too general you may have to compete with a lot of people. So try to diversify your topics and among them detect the one you have advantage (by looking at traffic) and add to it.
Thanks for a wonderful hub, patience is the key, I've been here for only 5 days and have already started earning - not hugely, but it's happening. Very interesting to read others comments too...
I do like the sincerity of this hub! It also plays a highly motivational role in our on-line blogging life.
Personally, I am very excited because I am managing to grow my on-line income at the rate of 300% per month (without affiliates, not by hub pages) and I really feel good for that. Hard work in the past finally pays off.
As MarcNorris said: it works 'in baby steps', but it works!
I'm very new to this Hub thing, and AdSense in general, but so far I've made $50 or so in a little under three weeks? Not sure how it happened, and I didn't expect it to happen... I actually joined though because friends of mine kept asking me for tips and advice on certain things I knew about, so I signed up and now I can just e-mail them the links to certain things rather than constantly re-type the same e-mail multiple times.
I guess promotion is key? I sent some links out to about 20 or 30 friends, tops, and my traffic's increasing from all you fellow Hubbers. But at the end of the day, I have a daily job for my money and I enjoy HubPages for the community. :)
I still don't know how anyone makes more than enough money to finance more than the cost of hosting, etc. There are so many good websites and hubs.
Well, I'm the kind of person that will "stick to it" if there are possibilities. But, so far I'm not even paying for the electricity that runs my computer. And you always have to remember you only get 60% of what shows up in Adsense
People talk about adsense words that drive up your profits, but where do you find these?
Thanks for the shared info. I just joined HubPages but even got stuck somewhere in step 3 (?) when I actually have to start typing my content. I couldn't seem to find what to do after the title. [sigh]
wow,
really best page

Interesting article. It's encouraging to see that there are multiple profit centers in online marketing.
I think it's a great way to practice marketing and get paid while you learn. Thanks for the the article.
I'm making around $2 a day from one page on my website, another page makes me around $1 a day. I am new to hubpages and it's nice to see someone who is earning money from adsense using Hubpages. It really makes me want to stay on hubpages and be a part of the community.
I'm moving onto affiliate marketing soon.
Hi Makemoney, your hub has inspired my to publish my daily earnings, would you mind if I do this or would you feel like I was stealing your thunder?
