A Vacation With a Difference
Inclusive package holidays are an excellent way of getting the holiday you wish for without any aggravation and these can be catered specially for your requirements. Yet you can also decide to book precise activities for a day here and there whilst on your holiday. Depending on the type of activity you will either be among a group of three to five families, or in a community group of around 15 to 30 families. All groups are guided by a qualified tour leader. You will find that that this is a fun way to meet other families who have the same aspirations as yourself.
There are adventure holidays on offer to suit all tastes, some being more arduous than others such as white water rafting or sky diving, whilst other less dangerous activities are cycling to one place, then horse back riding to another. The main thing to remember is to verify the itinerary thoroughly and make sure that whatever you do it is going to be appropriate for everyone.
You can also select from activities such as canoeing and rafting in the Ardeche, or climbing canyon walls, tubing and mountain climbing in the Alps. Brittany offers horse back riding, and the Pyrenees offer paragliding and mountaineering. Don’t miss Chamonix, a real mountain town, full of history and popular for skiing holidays. Chamonix also offers amazing summer orienteering which with the diverse terrain is suited to the most practiced of orienteering people.
Also a visit to the Grand Canyon of Europe known as Gorge d'Ardeche, is a fabulous adventure. The river which winds its way past steep canyon walls and towering cliffs, has created the ideal location for canoeing, climbing and walking for the experienced and the novice alike.
The Alps Maritime is the true France and even though the Roya Valley is only one hours drive from the French Riviera, it is still very unspoiled and mostly empty of tourists. Here you can meet the locals and enjoy the local fare. The valleys in this region are renowned for their many canyons and fast flowing rivers and mountain scenery. So it is the ideal place for an invigorating family adventure holiday with lots of diverse activities to choose from. You never become jaded, just possibly very exhausted.
France has lots of lakes and miles and miles of coastal water suitable for water skiing and other water sports especially in the areas in the South of France which are far warmer especially in the summer months.
This country also has some of a supreme terrain for mountain biking, which is probably why France has been able to develop some of the best mountain bikers in the World. However, there are also lots of other adventures that you might like, such as pony trekking, kayaking, scuba diving, wind surfing, hiking, rope courses, caving, and abseiling to name a few.
Just make sure that whatever kind of adventure holiday you are looking for, you think of everyone who is in your party, especially as some activities are not accessible for children under certain ages. You do need to consider what will be suitable; after all if you like cycling but have a heart condition, then mountain biking is not going to be the thing to do.
There are some excursions that cater for the experienced, such as ice climbing for skilled rock climbers. Whereas a novice who has never even been in a canoe or on horseback before, would need some sort of tuition incorporated within their holiday before they attempt some of the more skillful activities on offer.
Please do confirm the equipment, if any, that you will need to take with you. This might include such items as hiking boots or your own life jacket. We had to get a life jacket for our daughter due to her age, as there were not any available in tiny sizes. The last thing you would like is to get to your destination and find that you cannot take part in the activities you were so looking forward to.
So for anyone who is fascinated with outdoor adventure travel then this type of holiday can really help them find the real France and meet the friendly locals as well as experience local customs and local traditional fare, by taking you off the typical beaten track and into the very heart of this extraordinary country.
