Adventure Quest Worlds: A Free MMORPG Worth Playing

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of free massively multiplayer games for you to play. Like with all things though, there's the wheat and there's the chaff. AdventureQuest Worlds is one of the few free MMORPGs worth playing.

AQ has a large player base and, from my experience, they're friendly and helpful.

After creating your character you're transported to a world of magic and mystery. There are some starting quests for you to pick up that give you a chance to test out your new character.

You'll notice that you do not select skills, you simply choose a class and then start playing. You automatically gain new power moves as your level increases. In fact, there are two levels - class levels (warrior, rogue, etc.) and player levels. Each one gains experience at different rates.

One of the best things is you can play this game as long as you want. Some games limit your playing ability by giving you limited energy or other resources. Here you can keep leveling up as long as you have time.

AQ Worlds has a graphic style similar to the original Adventure Quest but the gameplay is much different. Rather than turn based battles in a mostly single play environment, AQ Worlds has real time combat in a large game world containing thousands of players. [MMO Hub]

Here are my 3 favorite features of AQ Worlds:

1. Playability - there are a ton of quests and questing locations. You can travel all over at the click of your mouse...you don't have to run for 10 minutes to get somewhere! This helps to keep the action fast paced and exciting. Plus, you can adventure in groups for quick leveling and quest completion.
   
2. Different Classes - you can literally play any class you want simply buy purchasing the appropriate class armor. You will have to level each class independently but this will add a ton of variety to your gameplay and your versatility. 
3. Solid Graphics & Audio - Many browser games have lame music or animations. Not AQ Worlds! They've spent a decent amount of time making things sound good. I will admit that it'd be nice to have a volume control...at this point you can only turn it on or off. The animations, which come up as you progress through important quests, are entertaining.
   

Although AdventureQuest Worlds is free to play, there are also added features for subscription players which include weapons, armor, locations and more. Personally, I don't pay for content on AQ but there are some tempting items and the subscription prices aren't too bad.
