Or you save your money and the risk, and try any number of other marketing strategies, many discussed in Small Business Administration's materials and website at http://www.sba.gov/
Here are some popular affiliate marketing strategies to sue for your dog (and other pet) products and services
1) Set up a website for directing all your leads, prospects and buyers in all your marketing communications, so everyone can read about your products and services. Have a crisp look, working navigation, readable font (no tiny print that hurts the eyes), a couple basic colors that go well together for your color scheme, some small-sized graphics that load quickly and your sales copy with buying buttons or other shopping cart info.
2) Write and use ads regularly with all types of communications that direct people to click on your link; for example, write short "sig file" ads to use with email signatures and signature boxes on Internet forums. Here is an idea, "Click: YourURL.com To Get Your Free Dog Treats While Supplies Last!" And then maybe offer free treats with each purchase of dog treat jars.
3)Don't just market online. Postcards are an excellent way to market in an affordable manner offline. Insert an image from your website and one of your short ads and offer a monthly special. For example, one month, include an image of a dog in one of the beds you sell and write short ad copy about it, inviting the reader to take action. 4) Write press releases and articles regularly to announce new products, services, special promos, community service projects you are involved in, industry news, and many other popular topics to share with others. Include your resource box AKA byline at the bottom of articles, making it similar to your sig file, inviting readers to your site for a special (ebooks, report, coupon, discount, etc.) And in your press releases, offer something free to readers like a free industry report or ebook. Then submit these articles and press releases to free online article and press release sites and directories, and submit to offline media as well.
5) Package freebies to give away. With write them yourself, buy PLR (private label rights) content to use for them, or hire a ghostwriter to write some for you form bid sites online like Elance.com. Include your branding - -website URL and other contact info and ads. And give these away to people who visit your site and fill out an autoresponder form (read about those in other online articles).
