Ann Sieg Brings Affiliate Marketing and Internet Network Marketing Together

When it comes to making money online, a lot of people wonder if they should go with affiliate marketing or network marketing. Each has its benefits and challenges. The good news is that you can do both and they can be very synergistic.

With affiliate marketing whenever you sell a product for someone else, you get paid a commission.

The commission varies depending on the company, but it can be anywhere from 10 percent to 50 percent. You generally get paid on the people you refer, but some affiliate marketing programs are two-tiered (or even more) so that you get paid on the people they refer as well. Some programs bring you residual income (e.g. if there is a monthly commission you earn for every month your customer stays with the program) while others pay you a one-time fee for a referral. There are a lot of affiliate marketing programs out there and one of the challenges is knowing which ones to go with. I'll get to this in a minute.

Network marketing is a little different.

In network marketing, you represent a company and earn income on the people you sign up, as well as the people they refer (and the ones they refer, etc...). The number of levels on which you are paid varies with each company's compensation plan. The idea of earning income on the efforts of other people is a very powerful one. If you're not familiar with it, you'll want to watch this video by Robert Kiyosaki. The other neat thing about network marketing is that you earn residual income or passive income. Most network marketing programs have a monthly auto-ship of some sort, and so you earn income every month your customer stays with the program.

With that in mind, which one would you say is better -- affiliate marketing or network marketing?

Of course the answer depends on you, your skills and interests and goals. But I want to let you know that you can do both and that they can work very synergistically together.

Personally, when I came across Send Out Cards I wasn't interested in starting another MLM. I just wanted to learn how to do internet network marketing.
