Affiliate Power Videos

Internet marketing is fast becoming one of the most competitive niche markets on the world wide web. Techniques that were effective a few months ago lose there potency as innovative marketers become more educated and creative.

The most drastic changes have occurred in affiliate marketing methodology. Affiliate marketers used to make a killing with pay per click campaigns, where they simply directed potential prospects to the sales page that contained their affilaite information.

This method was very effective up until a couple years ago. Google Adwords became an uber competitive market place. The famous "Google Slap" made it almost impossible for affiliate marketers to compete like this.

They were penalized because Google felt that a sales page did not contain a sufficient amount of content, pertinent to the search parameters.

Marketers quickly adapted by creating content rich landing pages that acted as a buffer between their pay per click link and the actual sales page. This satisfied Google's "quality score" and helped keep the price per click down.

Affiliates also realized that the landing page was a good place to collect a prospects information so that they would be placed in their marketing funnel which would hopefully lead to follow up sales.

Well, now that practically everyone is using this method. Affiliate marketers need some thing to give them an edge over their competition again. It is getting harder and harder to entice prospects to give up their information.

People have become protective of their email address and will not frivalously fill in any opt in form they run accross. You actually have to sell some thing that is free!

Well those innovative marketers that I mentioned earlier are now using video on their landing pages to boost their opt in rates. I have seen a few during my wanderings in cyber space and must admit they are quite effective.

I do a good bit of affilaite marketing so I put some bids on Elance to see if I could get some landing pages with video made. The prices that I got were pretty hefty. So I continued my search.

I recently became a student of Alex Jeffrey's coaching class. Alex is a protege of Mike Filsaime's and is also under the tuteledge of Rich Schefren. At the time of this writing, we have only gone through 2 modules.

Alex gave us a "profit pulling platform" which is, in essence, a list building machine. I have set up similar systems before with mediocre results. I set Alex's system up and with one very small test promotion, I generated 5x more opt ins than I have experienced with my own squeeze pages.

I also generated a sale off of the upsell on the down load page.

The difference is that the squeeze page had awesome copy and graphics and the upsell had a video that has the upsell converting at 6%. Video is definitely the way to go and if you don't use it, you are leaving money on the table.

If you are trying to be the next super affiliate or if you are just trying to make a few extra bucks, you need to use the best tools that are available to you. The simple fact that these are available for free makes it a no brainer.
