Two Tier Affiliate Program Promotion
How would you like to not only promote affiliate products yourself but also have other people promote them too and you earn a second stream of income when they sell a product?
Sound far fetched?
Well it isn't. There are lots of programmes nowadays that have a second tier structure. This means that you have your normal affiliate links and you have am affiliate programme promotional affiliate link so you can promote the programme itself. If someone signs up under you then when they make a sale, you get paid a small override commission.
I suppose it is like MLM without the stigma. So one thing you could do rather than push the product itself is push the affiliate programme as an income earner for other webmasters.
This could be a great little extra stream of income especially if you truly believe in the product and if the product sells well.
It can even mean that at some point if you are successful you can stop promoting the product yourself and still earn a nice income.
It sounds like MLM but it truly isn't. It usually only goes one level deep usually but the principle I suppose is similar.
So why not see if the affiliate programmes you are a member of, have a second tier structure. You will find some do and quite quickly you can build up a portfolio of products you can refer other people to sign up to in order for them to earn revenue.
It could be that you build this into your current business model.
It truly is a win win because you can highlight these programmes to webmasters, who will thank you for highlighting a new income stream for them and it could make you money too! You could build pages on different sites such as Hubpages or Squidoo.
How To Promote A Two Tier Affiliate Opportunity
So how can you use two tier programmes once you have found them?
Firstly, you could do some research online to see if there is a marketplace for this product and see what people are promoting under the major search terms. If they are not promoting your programme, why not drop them a quick note to point it out to them, using your Affiliate signup Link.
Secondly, if the programmes all relate to a given field you could write a guide or report and give it away to people with links to revenue generating opportunities! I will be doing this shortly so watch this space!
Thirdly, share it with your site visitors, blog readers or newsletter subscribers. You never know someone might use it.
Finally - and you will have to be shrewd and quickoff the mark with this one - some affiliate programme owners don't promote themselves in affiliate programme directories. Why not visit a few and see if the programme is listed? If it isn't then get in there quick and submit the programme using your signup link.
Like most things, the more you put in, the more you will get out. Spend a bit of time researching the space and see if there is lots of activity, then approach either by 'phone if you can or via email. Using a small amout of time in this way can attract some fantastic results if you find super affiliates that can really promote products.
I always remember a sub-affiliate of mine in the loanspace was earning me more money than I was earning myself via a programme because he had a lot more experience. But I didn't mind, I still banked the cheque!
