How to find affordable supplements

Seems like it's almost impossible to find affordable supplements if you're a young dude who doesn't make a lot of money, and just wanna build some muscle or lose some fat. It's not impossible though - if you look hard enough, you can find the popular stuff, such as whey and creatine, for FAR cheaper than you would had you not bothered to shop around. But sometimes, you just have to make certain decisions in your shopping if you're going to find affordable supplements.

They are easy to find if you look, hard enough, though. What should you do to find affordable supplements if you are broke?

Shop online.

Really, Google is your friend. You can buy the same kinds of supplements online as you can buy in person, in stores, but for far cheaper prices. Shop around. Go to many different sites. And make sure to add shipping to your total cost, to make sure you aren't paying more for your stuff.

Buy the store-brands.

If you want to shop in brick-and-mortar stores, don't go buying from the company that spends the most advertising dollars or puts together the most exotic mixture of supplements. Do you get more benefit from buying the expensive ZMA stack from the big-name manufacturer, or buying Zinc, Magnesium and Aspartate (B12) seperately from the store-brand out of the vitamin section? Is there any difference between the big-name brand's Creatine and the store-brand cheapo Creatine? No. Your muscles don't know the difference. Your body doesn't know the difference. And don't pay a ton of extra money for a Creatine-sugar drink mixture like Muscletech. Just buy the various ingredients seperately.

Buy in bulk.

Buy supplements in bulk from warehouse stores. Mostly, these will happen online, with sites like True Protein. Order just straight whey, egg protein, soy protein, etc, or choose which flavoring mix goes with it. You can get a custom mix, like whey, creatine, glutamine and dextrose, without paying extra. You can get an exotic creatine glutamine nitric oxide stack custom-made without paying 3 times extra just because the company spends millions to advertise in magazines and online.

Cheap supplements are VERY easy to locate if you look for them. My personal favorite site is TrueProtein (not my site, it belongs to Doggcrapp/DC Training creator Dante Trudel) because of the cheap prices and the sheer volume of possibilities from shopping at his site.

Great point about buying Zinc, Magnesium and Aspartate seperately. Like you say, people need to look at the ingredients of these expensive products and they will see they are often just made of very basic ingredients.
