Many Women in Afghanistan Commit Self-Burning

Afghanistan women have a sharp place in the world history. Especially during the reign of Taliban in Afghanistan, many restrictions were posed on women. However, after a long time, they have been in lots of great achievements. They were into the assembly, football and many more.

Restrictions Posed In Women: Here we outline some of the restrictions that Taliban left to women;

1. Girls and women were allowed only with burgas outside. They are not allowed without burgas in any public place. Women face is considered the source of corruption for other men, who are in no way related to the women. Therefore it has been made a rule to wear burgas and then travel out.

2. They were not given any right as equal to men. In fact, they were given no rights at all. They were not allowed to work, this is because the rule stated that women should not be exposed to men in the workplace and the earning of men alone should be used in the uplift of a family.

3. They were not allowed to go to school or pursue education after the age of eight. There were many troops developed at this point of time to educate women secretly. They operated underground and they risked their lives in learning from the teachers.

4. Women were not allowed to be treated by male doctors. All these refrained women from leading a normal and happier life.

5. Women are not allowed in streets unless they are with a close relative. They should not contact any men or even speak to a man, who is not their close relative.

6. They are not supposed to wear high-healed shoes, as the rule says that the women footsteps might disturb a man. Women should not even speak loudly because a man would hear it.

7. Almost all residents in Afghanistan would have its first floor windows closed, painted, or shielded with screen, to refrain women from viewing the streets.

Achievements of Women

The RAWA (Revolutionary Association Of the Women of Afghanistan) which was found in 1977 by Meena Keshwar Kamal to mainly focus on the rights of women and to bring in democracy which will give the pope equal rights in Afghanistan, was the first start in the development of women. It was the first women organization found in Afghanistan and it owns an individual website, which speaks about the achievement and the rights it earned for women in Afghanistan. It originated in Kabul by a most courageous student, Meena Keshwar Kamal. She was very much disturbed by the laws been enforced on women in Afghanistan especially in that of pursuing education. This made her fight against the strict rules. She was assassinated for her political and social activities to improve womankind.

Te next to be mentioned achievement is the Afghan Ministry of Women Affairs. It was successfully installed in the year 2001.It was by short called MOWA. The Afghan Transitional Administration developed this MOLWA. They mainly focused in transitioning women into dynamic Personalities to rule a country. They implemented many policies that would encourage women to come forward to achieve this world. The other notable achievement is the football club in Afghanistan, which is made of women. Lot of competitions were played bit them. They earned many laurels to the nation.

Afghanistan women prove to be the best strugglers of the world who have withstood troubles and reached a point of achievement in life.
