Wonderful Words Of Wisdom

Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson

it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.

Something to think about isn't it?

When I first read this I wondered why anyone would be afraid of their greatness and their ability to succeed. After giving it some thought I could clearly see that at times I have hidden what I have been proud of achieving from others as I did not want them to think I was blowing my own trumpet. I was at times embarrassed about my personal achievements the things that I have done in my life like travel and getting a job I liked. I am not saying go around and boast about anything and everything..what I am saying is that it is OK to be proud of your achievements. It is OK to have dreams that are bigger than your friends and even other members of your family. It is OK to succeed and feel good about it.

Does an actor who has made a film hide from the cameras or do they walk the red carpet smiling and posing for photographers along the way and if you are lucky stopping to give an autograph. No way they strut their stuff the movie is advertised and given attention whether it is good or bad by word of mouth from one person to another.

So what is the difference between their personal successes and ours. Just because it is not made into a movie does not mean we can not be proud of the what we achieve in our every day life.

OK then off you go and be proud of your achievements. You have the right to feel wonderful about your achievements.

From me a big congratulations for everything you have overcome or achieved in your life.

Hey mulder thank you for reading this. I agree they are thought provoking words and very powerful to read. We can then question if indeed we are afraid of our own greatness. Blessings
