After moving my music to my iPod with RealPlayer, which are MP3 files, but the iPod itself doesn't play them
59Why don't MP3 work on Ipod
The main reason is that the MP3 songs arn't capable with the Ipod. MP3 format only works on MP3 systmems. Itunes uses the format MPEG and similar formats. The best way to get your MP3 Songs OR even WMA if you have them is to get itunes and then convert them into the itunes format using itunes. Once you downlad itunes it will basically do this for you and is very easy although it may take some time depending on how many songs you have. Hope this helps

I don't think that this is the main reason, because I transferred MP3's within Realplayer to a friend's iPod nano and that of another friends. They were actually two different models even. Yet, they played fine.
Yet, I have not been able to do this on my classic iPod. My Realplayer will read the files as it would any external hard drive, but the iPod itself does not read / play these.
Again, this happens even though I was able to upload files into the nano versions of iPod.
