Ageless Body Timeless Mind

Did you know that some animals don't age? It's true - the hydra grows new cells just as quickly as old ones shed. Comprised of a foot, a think stalk, and flowerlike clusters of tiny tentacles, the hydra is continually growing at one end and dying at the other - regenerating its whole body every two weeks. Its cell flow in perfect harmony, it exists in perfect balance of creation and destruction, escaping death. Time never catches up to the hydra. The hydra only falls prey to death by accident, drought, shortage of food or environmental cause.

The fountain of eternal youth then lies in a balanced metabolism, a continual chemical stream that assimilates food, air, and water in perfect balance without missing a beat to entropy.

The honeybee is another amazing creation. When sensing a shortage of young workers, some old foragers amazingly reverse their ages, once again becoming young. Their hormones are regenerated to levels of young workers and they even regenerate their shriveled glands, essential for manufacturing the hatching larvae. Bee researchers that first uncovered this remarkable behavior were astounded. They learned that aging isn't plastic. There's no fixed clock for the honeybee, it's not a one way dusty path to ruins. Instead, they discovered, aging is fluid. It can move ahead or go back. It can move fast or slow down. But does this fluidness of aging exist with more complex organisms. I contend that it does.

Since your mind controls every cell in your body, human aging is constantly in flux. It can slow down, speed up, and even reverse its course. A great number of studies have concluded that aging is much more mutable and dependent on the person than they even imagine possible.

Mediation has been shown to lower a person's biological age, and love is the most miraculous and potent medicine of all. It not only heals, but renews.

To further demonstrate how strongly our minds influence our cells, consider just thinking about biting into a lemon. Visualize holding half of a nice, ripe lemon in the palm of your hand. Notice how juicy it is and the strong aroma it gives off. Now slowly raise it up to your mouth and . . . take a great big bite and taste the sour taste. I bet just visualizing this makes your mouth water, doesn't it? This demonstrates that merely words and images work as well as "actual" molecules to trigger biological responses. This process is a circle with continual renewal. Thanks for checking out my Hub again. If you found this Hud really interesting please rate it thumbs up, leave a message and share it. I believe in the power of the mind to help heal the body. Of course, I also believe in modern medicine, but the positive attitude helps.
