Those who don't participate in the airsoft sport often assume that all airsoft players are a little nuts. Considering that the entire game is built around hunting down other people and eliminating them with equipment that has brand names like Jing Gong, Dboys, and Star Rainbow, I guess we are a little nuts! In reality, airsoft players are actually those who just enjoy the patience, planning, strategy, skill, and teamwork that go into the sport. Airsoft players know that the sport builds self-esteem, concentration, and provides great exercise. Rarely do airsoft games involve a frenzy of shooting; they are played around a certain scenario with rules, strategies, real planning, and airsoft safety.
Airsoft enthusiasts usually form teams that they play with on a regular basis, and through this, they learn reliance and trust of others. They learn to set aside their own ambitions for the good of the team and to take direction from the leader. When they are victorious they get to share in the thrill of victory with others.
Most veterans to the airsoft sport are glad to find new members and share their years of experience and skills with newcomers. They look out for the amateur players on the skirmish field and point out strategies and key moves. They teach how to plan their battle, wait for the right opportunity to strike, and make quick adjustments when they see their enemy doing something unexpected. Unfortunately, there are some players that ignore the rules of the game, or keep themselves separate from the team and do their own thing, so to speak. These types of competitors can detract from the entire experience, but thankfully they are few and far between. Luckily, because of the teamwork requirements of airsoft, most players on the field are mindful of good sportsmanship, even when caught up in the adrenaline of the competition.
Once you build and develop a good airsoft team you may want to compete in airsoft tournaments. Airsoft tournaments have been springing up all over the world in recent years as the popularity of the sport grows. Most are what is called scenario style, meaning that there is a certain objective that airsoft teams must accomplishment to win; it's not just a free-for-all of shooting at your opponents. Some airsoft teams even play professionally, and spend thousands of dollars to tour the country and play different fields or in different tournaments.
If you're looking to join a game, team, or tournament, it's important to find the right airsoft group. Even if you're not interested in making airsoft a full-time pursuit, most airsoft teams that play casually welcome newcomers to their roster, provided of course you have your basic equipment and understanding of how the game is played. If you find an airsoft field near you, you can check with the owners about scheduled and tournament play. They can also let you know what teams are looking for new members and the skill level required to join a game. With a little or a lot of commitment you can enjoy the airsoft sport, a game of military-style planning and strategy.

As a child living on a military base my eye's came to see a part of teamwork an average individual does't.This is why i've been with the same team for over 7years.team trust is all about the TEAM and the GOAL of that team.me and the team run drills often and don't stop until we ALL see PERFECTION.
hi do you know a good airsoft arena for an overnight airsoft war?
how old do u have to be
Depends on the team or the feild. Usually 18, but sometimes with parental consent or supervision you can go in under 18 years.
Hi all i was wondering why all you air-soft player dress in active military members uniforms yawl have no right to wear them you guys did not earn them or shed your blood in Iraq. Only if you are prior military then it is ok but just answer me why us service members do not like it.
Some of you guys are asking all these questions but you arn't saying where you are currently living. This isn't going to help us find you tournaments and open airsoft events. I live in the state of Ohio and there is a website that has airsoft stuff all for the state of Ohio. The site URL is http://airsoftohio.com and they have event dates, and everything. I just recently started and airsoft team for the people that live in Ohio. But we only take in members that are near where we live in ohio. We have a website. I put our website in the URL box. Ill put it in here also so you can just copy and paste it. Well thanks for the nice article. All airsofters enjoy new people. We like to help the new people learn tactics and more. Keep Airsofting!!! http://ratairsoft.darkbb.com
how old do you have to be

Plenty of teams and players from around the US you can link up with.
I'm only 13 but trust me, I'm pro with an airsoft gun. I have a G36c G608 and am looking for a team for Massachusetts. Anyone up for it? I'm looking for players around my age. Email me if you need a player- willizle1@gmail.com
Jesse,
On our website www.OnTargetAirsoft.com there is a link to the TEAMS & FORUMS section (right had side). There is a team out of kenosha, WI that you might want to link up with. Also, some of the fields will allow under
18 if parents are present and sign a waiver. Remeber, we all have to start somewhere. Today's "Stink" is tomorrow's Talent. Good Luck!
