Akiane ... a child prodigy

Early Works by Akiane

All Talents Should Be Allowed to Grow Naturally

When I first heard of Akiane, I couldn't believe a child as young as she could have so much talent, much less be so full of wisom for her years.

I've come to the conclusion since that time that all children have talents and skills that go undeveloped simply because from the time they are born, others start to, with the best of intentions, lead them, guide and mold them into what they see that child should become.

And in my mind, I have come to the conclusion that perhaps we'd be better off letting children develop naturally....without influence.

Perhaps to teach them only readin', writin' and 'rithmetic like in the old days and then set them loose to explore and learn whatever their little hearts desire most to learn.

Akiane's story...which you can read on the site below, is even more amazing as she was raised in a non Christian home, and was not exposed to any Christian teachings at all prior to beginning to draw and paint images given to her by God at a very young age.

I've since researched the lives of many people who accomplished remarkable things in life, in the fields of art, music, inventions, discoveries and more...and I've learned that few had advanced education.

They didn't spend six or more hours a day in a controlled schoolroom learning environment, learning all day, doing homework at night, etc...and then in their 'spare time' accomplish the wondrous things they accomplished.

Food for thought, I think.

Will look forward to hearing from all who read here what they think or more importantly 'feel' about Akianes works and stories of others they know about who have also accomplished great things.

Keep shinin',

DJ

I sincerely God has given all of us human beings a talent. Some perhaps more abundantly and some may have to look harder for theirs.

We all keep looking having faith in God.

I so agree and even changed the subtitle...to...All Talents Should Be Allowed to Grow Naturally. If we've been too 'schooled', molded or influenced, the first step may be to unlearn a lot of things, then begin just doing the things we most love to do....researching and studying what makes us happiest, etc...

Thanks for commenting...it provided me with even more food for thought,

DJ
