Big Game Wildlife Management Some of the revenue from the sales of Alaska hunting licenses and tags to big game hunters have been used for wildlife management of moose, caribou, deer, and brown bears. Since these big game species receive the most public use, they have received the most management and research attention with wildlife surveys conducted annually.
Nonresident Alien Tags: If you are interested in hunting in Alaska, you should note that the prices of your tags are not the same as a local resident of Alaska or from the United States. Tag prices for the following species in 2009/10 were: Black bear - $300, Brown Bear - $650, Bison - $650, Caribou - $450, Dall Sheep - $550, Deer - $200, Elk - $400, Mountain Goat - $400, Muskox - $1,500, Wolf - $50 and Wolverine - $250.
Though these prices for a tag may seem expensive, you have to consider that you may get that next world record. Sometimes you just can't put a price on the once in a lifetime hunting trip to Alaska.
