Exquisite Albemarle County Real Estate

Albemarle County real estate is extremely rich in American history. Four Presidents hail from Albemarle County: Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, James Madison and Zachary Taylor (Of Tippy Canoe & Tyler Too fame).

Home to just over 90,000 residents, about half of which make their home in the city of Charlottesville which encumbers the University of Virginia student population. There are 6 types of popular Albemarle real estate: Albemarle County land, Virginia horse farms, 18th & 19th century, Virginia, historic homes, Charlottesville condos, Charlottesville townhouses and Albemarle County single family homes.

Albemarle Virginia boasts a beautiful environment, one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, low crime rates, 5 new music venues, 3 top 10 hospitals and super private & public schools.

With Albemarle County real estate in a transition period into a strong buyers market, it's the perfect time to jump in and experience the charm of this region for yourself. Charlottesville real estate may be the main attraction, but we know living in a college town may not suit everyone's tastes, so let's take a closer look at Albemarle real estate.

Southern Albemarle features a variety of intriguing and culturally significant towns in the area. Homes in southern Albemarle County Va are more affordable than in northern Albemarle. Scottsville is one of these, at one point being a prime commercial district during the 18th century, as well as being the seat of government for the region. Scottsville was the largest port along the James River at the time, making it the major stopover for goods on their way to Richmond. This wealth led to many fabulous homes being built, many of which survive and indeed prosper to this day, with its great classic style making Albemarle County real estate so popular with everyone.

Covesville is another area steeped in tradition and history, and as such, is in the process of being signed to the National Register of Historic Places. One of great edifices from the area's historic past is the Cove Presbyterian Church, originally built in the early 19th century and later rebuilt following its partial destruction at the raging hands of a tornado. Many of the residential and commercial structures were built around this church, as the little town flourished and expanded rapidly on the heels of a thriving apple orchard business. Today Covesville is a dot on the map except for the exceptional Little League Complex John Grisham donated to the county.

People looking to purchase Albemarle County real estate probably have one of two things on their mind...To buy or build.

There's land or historical properties on the one side, or new properties in one of the many glossy subdivisions springing up on the outskirts of the populated regions of Albemarle.

Those seeking a piece of open land or an Albemarle farm would do well to check out the Carter's Bridge region, home to many plantation homes (many of which were designed by Thomas Jefferson) and extraordinary Albemarle county farms.

On the other end of the spectrum are the new homes in Albemarle County Va arising in the neighbourhoods of Lake Reynovia, Foxcroft, Redfields, Ragged Mountain and Mill Creek.

Another area for experiencing massive growth is the Biscuit Run area, a 1,300 acre tract with the potential for as many as 2,500 new homes in southern Albemarle County Va planned in the next 20 years. This area will not only feature new homes, but also apartments, townhouses and commercial zones as well.

These are just a few of the many exciting options in the Albemarle County real estate market today that rest outside the city life of Charlottesville.

Another good point...90% of all Albemarle real estate rests within 20 mins of the new Charlottesville Airport and major interstates for convenient access to Richmond (1 hour) and Washington, D.C. (2.5 hours).

Real estate in Albemarle Virginia is currently experiencing the same sluggish market as Charlottesville and other areas of Central Virginia real estate. But things are picking up...thank God!

Despite the quantity of Albemarle County real estate listings available, it's said that each person has their one perfect dream home out there, a perfect melding of comfort, environment and amenities.

If your dream home is going to be anywhere, it's probably here in Albemarle Virginia, surrounded by the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, the century-old trees and the knowledge of knowing you are living in good company as Thomas Jefferson had.

We are the number one realty in Albemarle Virginia and know this area of Central Virginia very well...as we all live here! Please call us anytime to discuss your Albemarle real estate needs. Toby Beavers 877-855-7913
