Court of law gave the custody of the child to biological mother

Alexandra wants to go back to portugal!

From what I watch on TV last days I was right when I gave my opinion on this matter. This girl should never have been delivered to the biological mother as a "legacy upward" if they were! Remember that the judge claimed that the maternal ties should prevail to make this decision, it appears that once a girl of 6 years was treated as an object or property is involved, being delivered to a mother who had left earlier, who had been removed from for abuse. Interesting way to see it as a child...
Television pictures showed the way the mother deals in Russia, arguing, I quote: "but what kind of education was that they gave him?". Someone explain this to Natalia because I can not speak Russian, that the problem is not in education (and affection) that Alexandra have but in education (and affection) that she does not know to give the to a child, the problem is that it does not deal with the daughter!

All chidren need affection

All children need to be treated with care, with affection! Otherway can not always do what they want, also I do not think that a child should be hited just because they want to go to a brother, in this case, a sister. You hear it in perfect Portuguese language, that the girl wanted to go to her sister, probably the only person in that house should imagine what she is feeling, as is daughter of the same mother, and is capable of having a bit of affection to give for Alexandra.
For those who have not followed the case remember that in question are two contradictory judgments. The Court of Law in Barcelos prove that the mother was not be able to educate a child, she has even come in drunk in court sessions. But the Court of Low of GuimarĂ£es (a more top court of law) decide that more biological ties should prevail.
Some people said, with reason, you can not confuse host (acolhimento) with adoption, but in this case I think this argument is automatically invalidated by the problems, or rather, facts, attached thereto, as described above, the press and in my previous opinion at paulovarela.com.

It's a tough one. I think the biological parents have the right to keep their children. I know Alexandra's mother may be poor and been through some tough times in life, but that is not an excuse to take the child away from her, and what about the other siblings and rest of the family? I think, though, that there should have been a good investigation to decide if it was the best course of action for the child: Will Alexandra have access to a good school and a good future remaining in Russia? Did the mother prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that she has the conditions to bring her up away from high risk to her wellbeing? Did the judges consider if the child would be happy moving to a foreign land and meet her relatives - whom are strangers to her? Probably the judges were contacted by the russian embassy and told to give them the kid back.

If the mother is any smarter than thinking about the immediate way to make some dough at the expense of the portuguese couple that raised Alexandra, she should maintian ties to Portugal and arrange for visitation every year. I heard our beaches are better than the russians.

As far as the mothers attitude of slapping the child, come on, the portuguese have always treated their own children harshly and have always had a propensity to abuse the vino. I saw nothing really disturbing in the video.

I am Russian.. I am watching this story from the beginning of May. It's a cruel case. I feel so much pity for a Portuguese couple, who raised little Sandra and who gave her love, care, good home and family. Her real mother left a little girl (who was around 8 years old), her first daughter with her mother in a village and left to Europe to make money. She gave birth to another girl, Sandra and gave it to a Portuguese couple to take care of.

I watched TV on Sandra's arrival to Russia..."Mother" spanked her right in the airport for not understanding or misbehaving..Mother drank vodka at the family poor dinner table right upon home arrival...What will she give to this little girl in Russia? The girl does not even speak Russian. Her parents in Portugal are having a heartache.. I saw how the girl screamed when they took her from them. 6 years of life in one family..It's hearbreaking for a kid and her Portuguese mom and dad. Please help these people to get their daughter back. Natalya is not a responsible mother...She is not mother at all. I will pray for this Portuguese couple...Please, powerful people help them!

It's a complete shame. Blood ties are overratted. In a day and age we deal with surrogate mothers, egg donors and the like, I strongly believe that affection ties should prevail. Clearly this little girl's parental figures are the portuguese couple. They took care of her, gave her a home, love and affection. The biological mother is less capable of making little Alexandra happy.

Giving Alexandra to the Russian woman, biological connection or not, was nothing short of child abuse. She gave up her right to motherhood when she gave her baby away.
