Holidaying in Alicante

Have you thought of holidaying in Alicante? It is a great holiday destination for travellers looking for a holiday that won't break the bank but who are also looking for a holiday that has a lot to offer.

In todays current economic climate travellers are looking for holidays that offer value, variety and fun. Europeans inparticular are looking closer to home for their Summer holiday and so Spain, France and the U.K. are now on their list of places to vacation.

Alicante has a lot to offer a traveller. Whether you are a single traveller or a couple or a family then Alicante and the Costa Blanca is for you.

Firstly Alicante has great beaches, there are popular, crowded beaches through to undiscovered coves and beaches that are hidden away and off the beaten track. There is a picturesque Marina, a castle that dominates the skyline, restaurants, bars, museums and historic buildings.

If all this still isn't enough you can take a drive out into the Costa Blanca. Here the landscapes are rugged and you can visit quaint old towns, that are charming and tranquil. The views around the Costa Blanca are stunning and well worth taking a car out on the open road.

There are several places of beauty around Alicante. From reservoirs to waterfalls, to historic towns and villages the Costa Blanca really does have it all.

Which leads us nicely onto hiring a car whilst in Alicante or the Costa Blanca.

There are a great choice of car rental companies on the Costa Blanca. You can hire a car from many locations, including Alicante Airport, Alicante city centre, or even from your destination.

Each car rental company will have their own website which will allow you to browse their prices and their terms and conditions, make your decision and then book your car. Using the internet to place your car hire booking does open up many doors for you. Some of the greatest rental bargains for the traveling public are located on the Internet. Aswell as booking directly with the car rental companies themselves you can try a car rental broker. These are often cheaper than booking directly with the car rental company themselves. But be careful. Remember to read the terms and conditions.

When booking your car hire for the Costa Blanca there are additional costs you need to look out for. Credible car hire companies will highlight these to you at the point of booking. If they don't then be wary because when you get to the desk, suddenly your online bargain isn't so much of an online bargain anymore and your costs have gone into the stratosphere.

1. Petrol Policy. Is the car delivered with a full tank of petrol and do you have to return it empty? Ideally you want to be able to collect it with a full tank and return it with a full tank.

2. An insurance to cover the excess fee. Hire cars are usually provided with insurance. But if you make a claim on the insurance you will have an expensive excess fee. So the car hire company sells you an insurance to eliminate the excess fee if you make a claim. You need to know about this in advance.

3. Glass, tyres and wheels are often not included in the car hire policy. Extra insurance is sold to cover these items. Know before you book.

I travel to the Costa Blanca region regularly and know the terms and conditions that these Alicante car hire companies add to their original quotes.

Out of all the car hire companies and brokers that are out there. I recommend only three. You can see which car hire companies I recommend at www.discover-alicante.com/recommended-alicante-car-rental.html

If you are travelling to Alicante sometime soon, we hope you enjoy your holiday!
