Places such as London, New York and Paris have topped the list as some of the most popular destinations for those in search of a bargain and it’s no surprise that this trend looks set to continue again this year. Here’s a bit of information about why these destinations are so popular with shoppers:
London
London has a massive array of shops that attract visitors from all over the world and at any time of the year. The Christmas sales in London usually start the day after Christmas and last for most of January. The only thing to watch out for are the huge crowds and the queues that come with them, people are advised to arrive early in the day in order to avoid the worst of the crowds.
Paris
The sales after Christmas in Paris usually begin on the first Wednesday in January. Over six weeks, all of the Parisian shops and department stores, such as; Printemps, Galleries Lafayette and Au Bon Marche, offer the best of Parisian fashion at bargain prices. Regular shoppers to Paris will know that you can either head for the sales early or wait towards the end of the six week period when the reductions begin to increase, sometimes even to 70 per cent off the fashions.
Milan
In Italy’s fashion capital, the sales begin on the first weekend in January and last for around six weeks. The stylish shops sell items that are selling for up to 30 per cent less than in other countries and these prices can lower even further during the post-Christmas sales. Most of the city’s main shops were people head for in the sales are around the area of Piazza del Duomo. Those in the area that have a lot of money to spend should head to the east of the Duomo where Via Monte Napoleone ans Via della Spiga are situated. In Milan you can buy a whole host of goods, from; suits to shoes to sportswear and to top it all off, you can be doing all this whilst rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous at the same time.
New York
After the dollar suffered a drop it is now starting to rise again so it’s a good time to start visiting the New York shops whilst you can still make savings on your purchases. Depending on the store, the sales can either start the day after Christmas or the beginning of January. There is so much to do in New York City, but regardless of this, a day shopping around famous streets such as Fifth Avenue and in the shops such as; Bloomingdales, Saks and Macy’s (apparently the world’s largest store) remains to be one of the most popular past-times.
Hong Kong
Many people travel to Hong Kong as there are major discounts to be had and the sales last through to the end of February. Hong Kong’s Central district is home to numerous skyscrapers and marbled shopping atriums and malls so it’s no wonder that it’s very popular with visitors.
The option of the old world markets and designer boutiques means that the area provides variety as well as excitement to those who are shopping in the area. The main shopping centres are The Landmark, The Galleria, Alexandra House, the ifc mall and Prince’s Building, here is where you’ll find the designer shops selling the exclusive brand names. For more contrast, you can head to two parallel streets known as “The Lanes”. Here you’ll find stalls selling a range of items, from; cheap clothing and costume jewellery to watches, luggage and shoes.
These are just a few of the very popular shopping districts all over the world that are visited every year by crowds of people hoping to find post-Christmas bargains.
Online Shopping for Jewellery
Are you planning to getting engaged this holiday season? In a recent survey conducted by a leading jewelry store reveals that 50 percent of engagements occur between November through February and one item that remains popular during the season is diamond engagement rings.
Contemporary diamond engagement rings exude elegance with modern inspiration. But finding the right diamond ring is not an easy task as your job is to find a ring that will be loved forever. According to the age old saying; diamonds are a girl's best friend - but this wouldn’t be the case if they were an erroneous shape or were set in a ring that is too big. If you are looking for a diamond engagement ring, it is a great idea to start your search online.
Nowadays online jewellery stores offer a superior way of buying diamond engagement rings. They offer extensive educational materials and unique tools that place the buyer in control of their jewellery shopping process. You can easily find some of the highest quality standards in the industry online at prices significantly lower than any brick and mortar store. The online stores enable you to pick just the right diamond engagement ring for the amount of money you want to spend with secure payment options and quick delivery time frames.
However; before you sit down at your computer and start browsing the sites that deal in diamond rings you should know the size and the design you are after and make sure that shopping does not burn a hole in your pocket. Consult the designer available online to help you choose the perfect design and colour and decide the shape of the diamond, cut and polish. All you need to do is to start saving (not as easy as it sounds of course) and with a diamond there is no chance of your proposal being turned down.
Online Shopping- What a bargain!
So we all want to save some money at the moment. The best way to really save some serious money is by shopping online where there are often better deals than you can find on the highstreets.
The reason online companies can offer these savings is because they don't have the amount of staff wages, storage costs and general office costs such as heating and electricity which can all add up. Not having these extra costs means they do not need the same margin on each product as the highstreet retailers do.
Ok, enough of the serious talk...consumer electronics such as LCD TV's, MP3 players and digital cameras can be found a great prices online and the best thing is you can compare the prices of all the leading brands and their best deals without having to leave the comfort of your home.
Shopping online is really easy and as we are now more internet savvy so navigating our way through to the correct pages shouldn't be a problem. In the past people were a bit sceptical about the safety aspects but these have now been amended with various security packages such AVG and Norton supplying the peice of mind that so many customers have wanted.
Many people do their shopping online when they are looking for electrical products and it also means you won't have to think about having to carry your brand new Xbox or Playstation back as it will be delivered to your door.
