All first times feel the same

Creating the first hub

We all feel that odd sensation in the pit of our stomachs when we do something for the first time. Some enjoy the feeling, while others go to great lengths to not have to deal with the knotted discomfort. From the first time we drive a car, to the first time we kiss that someone special.

Posting in a new environment always causes these feelings in me. It almost feels like starting at a new school in the middle of the year, or starting a new job where everyone else has worked together for a long time. You're always seen as the "newbie".

For me, the hardest part is finding something to write about that hasn't been covered a hundred times before, or that doesn't sound like it was written by a 3 year old. You know in your heart that when the people who have been around the site for awhile, are about to read your words and that will be their virtual "first impression". Eventually, a few of them will come to know you, but the basis of their feelings toward you will have already been decided. A few of them will be completely unimpressed, a few others will find you interesting, but if you play your cards right, most of them will realize just what a goofball you really are.

Welcome to Hubpages. I think you'll find we're a pretty open and positive community. Most of my hubs DO sound like a 3 year old, as that is the age of my daughter that I talk to all day. I look forward to reading more of your hubs! ;)
