Stress and Anxiety

Everything I read about anxiety always seems to come down to stress. Prolonged stress can cause physical damage over time including hypertension, weight gain or loss, and circulatory problems.

Stress also contributes to anxiety by causing the adrenal glands to function improperly. This means you're not only under a lot of stress, but you are physically at a disadvantage. When the adrenaline glands don't work properly, moods can begin to shift dramatically. This situation creates a state of physical and mental imbalance.

Unfortunately there's no easy answer to controlling stress. I had to make several lifestyle changes in order to reduce the stress in my life. Once I managed to get stress under control, a lot of my anxiety disappeared too.

I simply wasn't enjoying life while under too much stress. Some things that helped me were to get adequate sleep, eat a nutritionally balanced diet and to simplify my life. I use the principles in the book "Get it Done" to keep my life in control.

I use to get anxiety attacks, and suffer from mild depression. After watching a few other people spiral downwards on medication and addiction...I searched for an all natural approach. It works for me! Thanks for your insights.
