Alona Beach: Beautiful as the Light, Strong as the Oak Tree
68Alona Beach, Tawala, Panglao, Bohol, Philippines
Alona Beach is famous for its God’s endowed natural beauty. The stretches of white grains sand beach for about 1 ½ kilometers; the rocky cliff formations; the palm trees and genus flora; and the underwater treasures of corals and species of fishes and sea creatures. Alona beach is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in the Philippines.
AlonaBeach was named from the one of the famous sexy stars in 1970s, the actress, Ms Alona Alegre (real name is Ma. LourdesSalvador). She is the daughter of the known basketball player and comedy actor, Lou Salvador Sr. who happens to be the brother of Leroy Salvador, Lou Salvador Jr, Ross Rival, Mina Aragon and older brother of Phillip Salvador. She starred in her first movie “Tagapagmana” as a child living in a shanty in 1955.
Like Ms. Alona Alegre, AlonaBeach is indeed a tropical paradise that will surely captivate the heart of the local and foreign visitors. Gracing the atmosphere with the bright morning sun’s rays on the shimmering waters is beautiful to behold. In the afternoons, the panoramic view of the sun sets in the island. The darkness of the night will never lose the beauty of the place looking and millions stars at the sky. Yet, you’re lucky during the full moon wherein you can stroll along the shoreline and around the island with the cool breeze of the night.
In the broad daylight, swimming, snorkeling, boating, island hopping and diving are the activities to explore the other treasures of the island
Alona Beach is part of the PanglaoIsland (South West) in Bohol. The Province of Bohol on the other hand is located between the islands of Cebu and Leyte. Currently, there is already a bridge between Panglao and Tagbilaran wherein the accessibility thru car is possible.
