Alzheimer's - Knowledge is Important
61Learn More for Your Family and Yourself
Alzheimer's is more and more becoming a word, and condition we all need to learn more about. No longer something for older people alone to concern themselves with learning.
Love for your family should be a priority when thinking of this disease. Love for yourself, also. There are some steps we can take to help. Learning more about your family's background is a major step.
Knowing whether your parent or grandparent had this condition is important information. Knowing as much of your family medical history is important in various medical situations.
Alzheimer's is definitely a subject I intend to find more about, and especially the role it has played in my own family. This is a subject that just might play a role in families for generations to come.
Hopefully, medical science will find more help for this condition. Scientists are working day-and-night for cures for diseases. This might just be one of those that they find a cure for, among many others.

getting worried my self but that is the least of my concerns.
Thanks for a very good hub.
They are finding out more about Alzheimer's every day. There's some suggestion that taking folate an slow it down - it can't hurt, anyway. Also keeping the body and mind active (I wrote a Hub on that subject myself).
Thanks, everyone. Mr. Marmalade, I know what you mean. But, you can still find Hub Pages! Worry about so many things, though. Nothing to do with age.
I agree Alzheimer's is along with with all other disesses of human kind a most unwelcome and stressful part of living and it is for these THINGS that I seek your help to pass on the good news that 'adult stem cells' can heal our body's,so that we can live without pain, medication or disease......
......IF only we believe in God and understand that he created 'adult stem cells' in us for a purpose and that is that these incredibly powerful stem cells can repair and regenerate, worn, damaged and diseased cell tissue........
.....dont believe me;then how come our adult stem cells, grew us from babies into adulthood?.......think about that
Think about this also......"Why is so much money being spent on embryonic stem cell research....if not to produce adult stem cells in a bottle;which only the very wealthy will be able to afford......
Me;I'm merely trying to help mankind understand what Jesus meant when he said and I quote: "Physician HEAL thyself?".......
Lots of love,
Laurence
I was just reading at Dr. Mercola.com (I think it was) the other day that researchers are working with a virus that has proven results in mice brains. This virus "eats" the plaque that accumulates on the brain cells and pathways (this plaque is the cause of alzheimers). I will have to reread it again if I can find it. The researchers were very excited that it was showing such promise.
I say prevention is always the best cure...what causes the plaque in the first place? Learn that and stop the disease all together.

Well I'm finding many things out these days. check into the B-12 level of your loved one. It doesn't make it better (dementia) but can help stablize it.Aircept is what my mom takes...but when it gets to a certain point it drops fast and there is no bringing it back...the memory level I am speaking of. My mom..as many other's forget the recent things and do remember their pasts...but not compeletly. At our evaluation last friday she didn't know who her children were..the year..where she was..the day of the week..but she remembered her BD and even the year. there wwere many other ?'s she couldn't answere...so now am looking for a safer place for her. I could write a Hub on this actually... anyway sweetie thanks for the eye openers...and it is important for them to be happy as well as safe. there are so many things to consider.. It isn't easy or in-expensive. G-Ma :O) hugs
