Free Psychic Tests

As a child my mother told me stories of my grandmother, who had died before I was born. My mothers mother, she claimed, had been blessed by the gift of sixth sense. My mother told me that my grandmother had been a gypsy, and had at times used her psychic powers to aid the police with their enquiries. My mother also believed to a lesser degree that she too had some psychic abilities, and as such, suspected that I also did.

I wasn’t convinced, because if I was in some way the bearer of all-knowing powers, then I’d certainly kept them well hidden and was using them frugally.

But it was possible that my gift remained buried, that I had not yet become ‘in-tune’ with my psychic powers, having given them little thought. I decided to seek out some ‘Free Psychic Tests’, and to take up my birth right, to open my mind, and to let the mystical knowledge within spill forth.

Am I Psychic?

‘Can we connect minds?’ asked ‘Marcofrezza’ on YouTube, ‘I doubt this will work’ he continued ‘It's never been attempted in the history of the internet.’ ‘I’m going to think of a number and transmit it to you, through this video…’

I wasn’t sure if this was going to prove me psychic, or him, but either way I was game, after all the gift lay in my blood line, if anybody was going to receive Marcofrezza’s digital brain waves accurately, then it was going to be me.

‘Make your mind blank’ he instructed me, ‘clear it of all thought patterns’, I did, ‘you are going to think of my number’ he commanded, ‘and the number I am thinking of is an odd number…’

‘7’ popped into my head, ‘it has two digits’ OK, scrap seven I thought, lets go with ‘13’, ‘and both digits are different’, sounded good, ‘the number that I’m thinking of is between 10 and 50 he offered, shortening the range, OK I was still in here, it had to be thirteen, I was sure of it. ‘OK this probably didn’t work’ said Marco, ‘but the number I was trying to transmit to you was then number 37’, damn right it didn’t work Marco, what happened to number 13, I wasn’t sure who was at fault here, whose psychic powers had failed them, mine or Marcos.

One Psychic test down, and it wasn’t a good start, my psychic granny would be turning in her grave, how would I ever be able to help out the police with their official inquiries, and solve heinous crimes simply by the power of mind, if I didn’t buckle down and tune-in. I put my first failure down to having not warmed up, lit a cigarette to stimulate the grey matter, and went off in search of more psychic tests.

Am I Psychic?

In order to redeem myself and make granny proud I decided to pit myself against the daddy of all psychic tests, the ESP test.

Extrasensory perception (ESP) involves reception of information not gained through the recognized senses and not inferred from previous experience. The term was coined by German psychical researcher, Rudolf Tischner, and adopted by DukeUniversity psychologist J. B. Rhine to denote psychic abilities such as telepathy and clairvoyance, and their trans-temporal operation as precognition or retrocognition. ESP is also sometimes casually referred to as a sixth sense, gut instinct or hunch. The term implies acquisition of information by means external to the basic limiting assumptions of science.

The ESP psychic test essentially involves the participant attempting to guess from a variety of symbols on cards exactly which symbol adorns which card, those who are able to predict accurately more often than should be determined by chance or luck are thought possibly to be gifted with ESP (extrasensory perception), or in other words, the gift.

Am I Psychic?

I let the ESP psychic test load, and then read the instructions, I would be presented with a set of five cards turned over, and for each I would have to choose/guess/predict whichever of the ESP symbols I believed to be on each. I took a large swig of my beer to prepare myself mentally, and began.

I could choose between a square, a circle, a star, a cross, and a pair of lighting bolt like symbols, and I would continue until I had predicted 25 cards in total. For the first five I predicted: star, lightning bolts, star, star, lightning bolts, and then pressed reveal cards. The results were: square, circle, square, circle, and cross.

Not a good start, none out of five.

For the next five I opted for: star, square, star, square, and star. The results were: circle, star, star, lightning bolts, star.

That gave me two out of ten correct; perhaps my gift was now starting to shine through.

For the next five I chose: cross, lightning, cross, star, lightning, the results were: circle, square, cross, star, lightning. That was one more correct prediction for me, giving me a total now of 3 out of 15.

Star, square, lightning, cross, star for me, the results were: star, cross, lightning, square, square, came the results, giving me 5 out of 20.

And finally I chose: cross, circle, square, circle, and lightning, and the results were: lightning, circle, cross, star, square. Not a single one right, I couldn’t believe it, I felt like I’d let my family down, I’d scored a mere 5 out of 25 correct, I put it down to bad genes and too much beer.

A score of 20+ out of 25 is in the range of 4-5 times greater than that predicted by chance, those scoring this highly are thought to possibly possess strong ESP and telepathic abilities.

A score of 10-20 could still be a strong indicator of those possessing psychic powers.

But a score of 0-5, my score, was in the range of chance, and those scoring within this range were unlikely to possess any mystical powers.

So there you have it, another dream dashed, it would appear that the family gift has died in me, the end of a line, I imagined my grandma sat in her gypsy caravan, reading the tea leaves, surrounded by officers, as she unravelled the riddle of yet another unsolved crime to hearty applause, and then looked again at my measly score.
